Are you using sync or manually adjusting the BPM?
I previously used cdjs and when you set the bpm to match what the other deck was on it used to drop perfectly even it if both tracks were different bpm. Now i've got the xdj rx it's totally different and I really like it but the bpm is never stable and can be quite challenging especially mixing say a 138 bpm track with a 140 bpm track it can be all over the place and takes some controlling at times. I don'the know if their is anyway you can resolve this or is it a case of going back to cdjs.

Are you using sync or manually adjusting the BPM?
I don't use sync I only do it manually. On the cdjs you set the pinch point and and it doesn't move and you can get the track to mix tight even if they are different BPM tracks.
xdj is ok if its same BPM but the second you start rising to another BPM its hard to stablise the two tracks and you can't get the mix tight.
PITCH point! Ah, I get it -- I was like "Pinch? What is he talking about!?"
Are you mixing by watching the waveforms or by ear?
Haha. Sorry pitch point. I do mix via ears once i have the pitch point but when i used do it on the cdj's you set the pitch point and doesn't matter what BPM the track was produced at the mixing was really stable but on xdj it is very unstable in places and once0 a track is locked in via your ears it shouldn't move how much these do. We also produce mainstream trance and we produce it at one BPM and very rarely change so I can't understand why this does it. Example :-
Deck 1 138.0 BPM
Deck 2 140.0 BPM so need to make this deck 138.0 to match Deck 1 but while you are mixing it in you will get 137.3 then to 138.3 and keeps doing this and sometimes its more random than that. I use +10 which i used on cdjs too and that was fine.
The waveforms I only use to see the drops in the track nothing else.
Their are other mainstream djs who have these units and say they have same problem but they just haven't used this blog site.
Hope this is enough info to go by. .
There are some technical reasons why the two tracks may not lock in sync the same as with CDJs, the easy solution is to recommend you use the sync where the processor has the ability to use the beatgrid data to form a better synchronization and lock of the tempo of the two tracks.
In my person opinion this needs looking into by pioneer as I think that is a very poor answer to use the sync. I have tested the sync and it sounds worse but secondly i'm a professional dj that started out with vinyl so why would I want to use sync. I would quite happily come to pioneer and show you personally myself these problems however if you were to pass this information on to technical support to test they would see these problems too.
The sync doesn't sound worse, there's nothing going on in that process to affect the audio quality itself.
Thanks for the offer, but we understand your comments without needing it displayed in-person.
The sync isn't stable cause I used it. But we will stop their and I hope to see a firmware up date in the near future and I will be feeding this info back to all the djs/producers i'm currently working with to see what they think of this issue.
