Sync CDJs with Ableton Live

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXTiNU6RqOo

This background program syncs CDJs with Ableton Live or any other software what understands MIDI beat clock.
The CDJ_Clock listens to the Ethernet UDP protocol between the CDJs, calculates and sends out via USB an MIDI beat clock. The CDJ_Clock can be controlled with any MIDI controller. The synchronisation can be started exact to the next beat and sends out an MIDI continue signal. On the top left my MIDI-Clock box is viewing the beats and is used as a MIDI controller.

To clarify you don't need pioneer brand anything to run this, it just runs the cdj directly into live?

Dave, I’m not sure I understand the question. These programs work to translate network messages from Pioneer brand CDJs to other software like Ableton Live. You need a computer to run them on, and put them on the network with the CDJs and Ableton. Beat Link Trigger has advanced a great deal and has many new features since it was last discussed here; it can now work with Ableton Link for even better sync, and can display the waveforms and current playback position of the CDJs. https://github.com/brunchboy/beat-link-trigger/blob/master/README.md

Neat! Good luck, this is definitely a fun and useful area to work on, especially now that we have figured out so many interesting details of the protocol.
