Did you scroll down to the Timecode Setup tab? That's usually where you activate Timecode operation.
Also, you should consider upgrading to TSP 2 for greater flexibility/stability.
I bought my homie's DJM900nexus, updated the DJM firmware successfully, have the latest Pioneer driver and setup utility. The 2011 install guides tell you to use the Traktor 'Setup Wizard' to complete setup, but my Traktor Pro has different screens. On mine, it just asks if I have a controller (no options for DJM here), then asks if I want vinyl or cd for timecode. When I hit finish, it identifies the Audio 8 DJ interface that I told it when I installed Traktor.
When I just try to set it up without the 'wizard' it allows me to select the DJM-900nexus in the Audio Setup like any other sound card. Things look good, then when I move on to the Output section, Output Channel A L/R dropdown only has a 1 or 2, but no timecode indicator like in the instructions: DJM900nexus OUT[1] is not an option. See the attached image.

Is Traktor Skratch Pro 1 even supported anymore?
I just got my reply back from NI Support. Tractor 1.2.7 is fracking LEGACY now, as is the Audio 8 interface. I bought the Audio 8 (2008 release date) around 2009, and the DJM 900 came out in 2011. For them to drop support of a product so quickly and expect payment for an upgrade is a joke. Now it is 2016, I bought this 5 year old mixer from a friend, and it will soon be unsupported.
$100 UPGRADE for access to skip the Audio 8 box and use the DJM 900... new timecode records... I had an audio hum when using the DVS function that I was unable to troubleshoot out, and I am the local 6-troubleshooter.
Have you seen the movie Airplane? What a pisser!
I am about to buy the Serato DJ and DVS license on general principle. It is on sale now for half price at $150 with all the stupid crap I don't want or need like video mixing and too many duplicate effects. I would like the flexibility to use both for gigs instead of swapping boxes. Does anyone know if the purchase comes with timecode vinyl, or is that another $35 plus shipping, taxes, tariffs, prices may vary?!?
What I do know about Serato is that, unless you have a Searto Live box, you can't use the program–it acts as a dongle of sorts.
Have you checked out Pioneer's DVS system?
^^ Not entirely accurate ... you can buy the ClubPack for Serato and then most of Pioneer's DJM mixers can be used without an external SL box.
Well damn. I learned something new today. :-) Cheers @Pulse
