music video files not showing up in itunes playlist

When viewing my iTunes playlists in rekordbox, only the audio files are showing in the playlists. All my music video files are NOT being displayed in the playlist.

I am using the full paid version of rekordbox with and considering switching over from serato.

Do I need to purchase the rekordbox video plug in for videos to be displayed in the playlists? I am already running the trial 30 day version of the rekordbox video.

I manually added a video into my Collection in rekordbox. When I create an intelligent playlist, this video is not automatically showing up and being added into the intelligent playlist.

Why don't any videos show up in playlists?

Are you kidding me Sage?  Not sure what bubble you live in but Pioneer clearly have the biggest market share in the world with CDJs and most DJs use thumbdrives plugged into them.  I'm an AV DJ too but most of my sets are on thumbdrives playing just audio and most club DJs I play with in this city either use Rekordbox on Thumbrives and then the rest may use Serato or Traktor.

That entire statement would be true if it wasn't completely wrong.

Surely you're trolling right?  Of course not many people use CDs anymore but if that's the extent of your knowledge about a CDJ then you have much to learn and certainly haven't stepped in many club booths!  Good luck fitting a controller in ;-)

You are correct. I do not frequent many club booths & I never play on house gear. I use my own rig.

I would like to point out that none of this actually matters if you're library doesn't show up.

Then you are in your own little bubble, which is perfectly fine but not where a lot of DJs lie and the bottom line is there are more people playing on thumbdrives than there are controllers (in club / festival / tour circuits this is the clear majority) - particularly because it's the cheapest most portable option available.  If I go to play B2B with friends in a club I sure as hell don't bring a laptop in!  Rekordbox EXPORT mode is what most DJs I know use because it's free data management software and every single venue in our city (and other cities I have played in) have CDJs.

Everyone on this forum agrees with you that it's the one thing that would be super important to fix for Video DJing and currently having to drag videos in from my iTunes crates across into Rekordbox is annoying for me too but I do appreciate that they have a lot more to deal with than other software because of the EXPORT function.  I initially had the same reaction because I'd tried (and hated) Serato (shame as Mix Emergency is the bomb) and knew that you could access your video crates via iTunes.  But when Pulse explained it further up the forum it made perfect sense, no other software apart from whatever Denon have just put out has that integrated export function.

For me personally having that ecosystem and library which covers a variety of formats is the main selling point for me so I guess I can be a little more diplomatic about it because EXPORT mode is more important to me than it is to you if you don't play on thumbdrives at all.  To be able to have the flexibility to roll into a gig and play off vinyl, a controller, cdjs with visuals or cdjs with thumbdrives all off the one library and set of hotcues is the main reason I'm with Pioneer so I guess can appreciate the need for patience using all sides of their software!

ok. I'm going to say it one more time. for people who use export that is great. but even those people have playlists/crates. that integration should come first.

The integration is there dude.  On everything but Video.  If you were to use Rekordbox in Performance mode and just play AUDIO there are no issues using iTunes.  Integration did come first.  It was a key feature long before Rekordbox DJ was a thing and export mode was the only part of the software.  It's only a problem with VIDEO because the library is SHARED.

I think your next step should be reading the manuals or going on YouTube to understand the software a bit better because unfortunately you don't seem to understand at this stage!

I don't know what you want me to research. Library integration for videos isn't there. How many youtube videos do i have to watch before it works?

Library integration for Videos is there but iTunes playlists with video integration isn't there.  You can create playlists and manage your Videos within Rekordbox but as we all agree there are perks to using iTunes for this (especially if you have established playlist management prior to using Rekordbox and utilise smart playlists).

We are all on the same page about that. - Pulse has acknowledged several times it's on their todo list to sort but has highlighted the complications as to why it's not as easy as one two three click your hands.  This has further been explained numerous times. But then you go off on some tangent about why CDJs are old technology (even though a new CDJ was released last year) and say that people DJing on Video outweigh those DJing audio which clearly is incorrect even by the definition of what DJing is.

The reason why mixed media playlists are complicated has been explained numerous times but you seem to lack any understand as to why that is or what work arounds are in place.  Hats off to Pulse for his patience in these forums, I'm losing my nutter over here haha.

No. I don't think you understand. I don't care how hard it is. I just want it to work ;)

Okay, the horse has been beaten, I asked everyone to be patient, and this isn't it.

Go sit in the corner and listen to some smooth jazz!
