Ddj-rr 4 deck mode

Hi guys wondering if anyone can help, my Ddj-rr is capable of 4 decks at once using the switches on the controller. My question is, is it possible to actually play the 4 decks or are they set to only play the song on the selected channel I'm switched onto. Eg song playing on deck 1 and 3, switch to deck 1 and deck 3 stops playing, I guess it's due to only having 2 channel faders not 4? Or is it possible to switch between channels with both songs playing still? Thanks!

Just got the RR and had the same question. Note that in Rekordbox you cannot play all 4 decks simultaneously but if you use the RR with other DJ software you can play all 4 decks. I suspect this limitation was done intentionally so that the RR sales do not cut into their 4 channel controller sales. if this was just temporary and would be fixed with an upcoming software update I suspect they would have said so in the official comment above instead of read the manual.

I am going to, once again, refer you to the user manual.  Page 22.  You'd be surprised how many of your questions can be answered just by reading through it.

What I am surprised about is how little you seem to care about your users. Instead of stating that it is in fact capable of functioning as a 4 channel controller and providing those directions and then providing the correct page in the manual for documentation, you just essentially say rtfm - wth?? And instead of assuming that one hasn't read the manual how about reading the manual yourself and confirming that the manual does in fact provide clear instructions on how to operate in 4 channel mode. As shown in the screenshot below it certainly isn't very clear to me. Your reference to Pg 22 points the user to Pg 27 for instructions on how to change the mode but as shown in my screenshot no option for changing the mode appears to exist.

Of course I care.  But what is the sense in typing something out when it's already been done?  Moderators have many posts to attend to and retyping these things over and over is extremely time consuming and would delay our response time.  Also, Pioneer DJ spends a considerable amount of time and money producing user manuals and translating them into multiple languages.  Any time someone buys any piece of technology, the first step should always be to read the manual.  Not only will you learn how to do the things you want to do, but you will likely also learn something new about your product that you might have known before.

Now, about the settings.  Is your DDJ-RR connected and turned on?  When it is, your settings screen will look different from your screen shot above.

Maybe I went to far in assuming you don't care - maybe you do, Maybe you've just worked in your position so long you're tired of doing the same thing over and over and feel like it's your job to be a dick and teach people to do things the way you do. Just so you know - I worked in IT as a Technical Support Analyst for mainframe computer operations so I'm well versed in getting emails and phone calls from people who have not made any attempt at reading a manual or researching online.  Being that Rekordbox is the low man on the totem pole now when it comes to DJ software behind Serato, Traktor etc., it might be in the best interest of your company for you to actually assist it's users by providing the answer they require and suggesting they refer to the manual for further documentation rather than chastising them about reading the manual in the first place. That way you don't come off as a dick and the user has a pleasant experience dealing with your support and a positive feeling about the product overall. FYI.. I had already read the manual and figured out how to correct the issue and only responded to this thread in the hopes my words my not fall on deaf ears and maybe you might respond to the next person a little bit more positively. For me - I'll continue to use the DJ software that I was using (Which is NOT Rekordbox), because when you contact their support - they provide the type of support I've outline above.

Wow, like seriously Pioneer? What kind of service is this? I am actually thinking about getting the DDJ-RR. Concerning your lousy answers (Support-Guy), I am very disappointed. Should try better next time to get some potential customers to buy your stuff. Wow that makes me kind of mad and sad at the same time

I'm not supporting the behavior of the client support guy, but as the Manuel suggests on page 22/27, go to Preferences > Controller > Mixer, then switch from 2 to 4 channels.
