rekordbox 4.2.2 beta released – Unfixed

Volume slider.

I'm going to damage my ears if this doesn't get fixed.
The volume is too low when previewing tracks compared to when cueing a CH.

Please fix!!!

You can change the preview volume level in PREFERENCE.

This is for rekordbox dj.

I'm using rekordbox in Export mode only.

whats funny about this is the following

that setting is only displayed in Rekordbox DJ yet preview doesn't even work in Rekordbox DJ and when in export mode you cannot see that volume slider where preview actually works, would be nice if this could be fixed

you can go into Rekordbox DJ and turn the preview volume up and then go to export mode to actually hear the difference

Using Export mode too. CDJ-2000nxs2s and DJM-900nxs2.

For me the Link Cue is usually too HIGH.

Could it be that you gain your individual channels too high? Channel VUs should be peaking the first orange LED. On the occasional old-school rock or funk track you might want to use up some headroom and aim for the 2nd or 3rd orange light in order to raise that track's RMS volume and match it to the commercial, modernly mastered track that's on the other deck, but basically that's all. Headroom is meant to be headroom.

Sounds obvious to the audio techies, but running near the red is pathological among DJs so I am hinting it to you. If you are constantly using up the 15+dB of headroom Pioneer mixers offer maybe that's why channels sound louder than the Link Cue :)

My CH levels aren't too high as the gains are at the 10 o'clock position.

A fixed "O'clock" position will greatly vary in results from track to track but if you tell me you are peaking to the first orange LED then I will trust you.

It would be nice of Pioneer to offer a way to alter the Link Cue gain. Maybe we can have a dedicated gain knob on the nxs3 DJM series (and a single Peak LED?) but in the meantime please give us a software knob or slider...

EDIT Hadn't seen @BriChi's answer. Using 4.2.3, I can confirm the Volume slider being only available in Performance mode. I have yet to test if it affects Link Cue in Export mode...

I would say 95% of my tracks are within the same recorded level.

I would just like the ability to move the volume slider in rekordbox again how I was able to before updating to 4.1.x
Nothing special, but makes a huge difference.
God knows why the engineers have restricted this in current versions :\
