Since it is powered by USB, please try using a different USB cable and different USB port on your computer.
Hi,
Ive been using my DDJ SB2 for around 10 months now without any issues - recently during a mix the song will stop on the left deck and the play button will just stop working and become unresponsive - I then have pull the usb out and reset the controller and it will work again. This happens almost every 30 mins making it impossible to use the kit. Note i have bought the full version of Serato but this problem was persisting before when i was using it on Intro.
Any suggestions?
Since it is powered by USB, please try using a different USB cable and different USB port on your computer.

i lso have the same problem please alert me if theres any solution djsox@me.com
I also had the same issue over the weekend during a gig. The right deck play button froze multiple times. I could play the track on the right deck only by holding down the cue button. I had a backup plan that got me through but I had to unplug and plug the deck back in twice that night. Is the USB cable the issue or is it something else?
When dealing with a USB powered unit, the first step in troubleshooting should always be to try a different USB cable. Next, try a different USB port on your computer.
multiple people are having this issue... if the usb cable is the issue does this mean pioneer shipped the unit with bad cables?
I also am having the same problem. I switched both the cable and USB ports. I have been communicating with Serato as I thought it was a software issue. This started after I updated to MacOS Sierra. I did not have any issues prior to the update.
I can play fine for about 10 minutes then the left deck play button becomes non-responsive. It will not respond via the SB2 or the mouse.
Please any suggestions??
@S Lloyd > It's the software itself which is freezing?
When the issue occurs the play button is unresponsive. I cannot activate it via the SB2 controller or the mouse. I can play for about 10 to 15 minutes and when transitioning to the left deck the play button becomes unresponsive. The right deck is still playing so I cannot say that the actual software is freezing.
I have tried different USB ports and cables and still have the issue.
I have been in communication with Serato but they have not determined why I am having this issue. I have short video recordings of the issue. Is there somewhere I can upload the video?
Note that Serato support has determined that my MacBook can run the software. This issue only starts after my update to MacOS Sierra.
After my last post I received a suggestion from Serato Support to use a powered USB HuB. I tested it and it seems to solve my problem. I practiced for about 2 hours with the powered hub and did not experience the left deck not responding.
I messed with the jog wheel during the session just to see if that would cause an issue and it did not. So for the time being looks like the hub solved my problem with the left deck not responding.
@fabian > The problem is more likely that the unit is not receiving adequate power over the USB bus from your computer. Please try using a different USB cable, different USB port, a powered USB hub, or another computer to see if this issue is resolved before claiming it is a problem with the drivers or hardware.
I'm experiencing the same issue here and frankly don't know how to proceed. Literally tried everything, I live with a lot of people and installed serato in 6 different computers, the bug happened in all of them (Some were windows, some were Mac)
I've realized that this is a very common issue for DDJ sb2 users, so how can I proceed?

In cases where trying the aforementioned solutions does not resolve the issue, please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have the unit inspected and serviced.
