Previous Firmware DDJ-SR

Pioneer, it sounds like the cc midi problem with the left cue on the DDJ-SR is a firmware issue. It's pretty clear actually.

Please upload the previous firmware updates so we can at least get our controllers working again until you guys figure it out. We payed good money for these units. Some people are getting a bad taste in their mouths and are talking about not buying your products again.

Hello Steph,

DDJ-SR engineers would like to ask you the question below:

Did you have the issue you reported after updating which firmware version?

If you have this kind of issues without updating the firmware, it would be caused by faulty hardware. We recommend you send the unit to a service center near from your place.

Sorry for the issue you have and thank you for your kind cooperation.

Best regards,

CRM, Pioneer DJ

Are you referring to firmware version 1.08, which was released back in February?

No, I'm talking about one of the earlier firmware that came with the older/earlier sold DDJ-SR's. Akai, Roland, Numark... just about every major  retailer of digital gear maintain an archive online with all the previous software and firmware for their devices.

If the update caused the malfunction for a lot of people, it's just logical to offer the previous firmware so we can revert back. Even firmware version 1.02. And the arrogance of the company refusing to have it available when it wouldn't take much effort to release the old firmwares is what's causing people to not trust your Company's    business anymore.

I have another thing to add.

I talked to customer service  and the guy got super agitated  when I said that the firmware is clearly unstable. That indicates that Pioneer has conditioned their staff to have an arrogant approach when being questioned about the quality  of their products.

There's  a major lack of communication.. customer service (spoke to two different people) said they were adamant that they never heard of these malfunctions before and weren't receiving calls. Meanwhile people are complaining all over these forums and on social media.

So what's up? It sounds like Pioneer doesn't care and has little to no in intention of correcting this on a major scale.

You say send our units in, but what if we're not under warranty? Or got the controller used?

Nothing against you personally  Mark, but we need someone  to pass this along. Cause we consumers are furious. If this is what's become of Pioneer I'll gladly  move to some other company to save the headache.

Well, I'm a DJ as well and I play out 3 times a week minimum and I use the DDJ-SR.  I've had the same unit since it was originally released and I've never had an issue with it.  I am unaware of any widespread firmware update issue with this product.  If you could add links to those forum posts here I can create a support ticket with the engineering team to see if we can get to the bottom of the issue.
