Rane MP2015 & 2 Pioneer CDJ 2000

Hi all,

I have been a Traktor Pro user for several years, mainly varying between a Denon controller and a Pioneer CDJ 2000 + DJM 900 Nexus setup. With configuration adjustments depending on either setup, I have always been able to mix and record my sets in Traktor Pro.

I recently purchased a Rane MP2015 mixer and connected my Pioneer CDJ 2000s using the digital SPIF cables. Traktor Pro (the latest version) detects the MP2015 and CDJ 2000s just fine (in HID mode), but when I use the MP2015 soundcard, the tracks playing on the CDJ 2000s do not output through the mixer, but rather through my Macbook Pro.

Meanwhile, if I select the CDJ 2000s soundcard (with the Pioneer aggregator tool), I am able to output sound through the mixer, but forego the recording ability in Traktor Pro.

In short, I am trying to use the CDJ 2000s in HID mode alongside the MP2015 so I can mix and record directly within Traktor.

I would very much appreciate any assistance with this.

A.Ze

If you're using Traktor, there's no need to have the CDJ's connected to the Rane MP2015 via SPDIF or any audio cable. When used in Traktor, The CDJ's are acting as HID units only, essentially MIDI controllers–you're not using them to produce sound nor is any sound be sent to them; only data. They should be connected to your computer via USB or to a quality USB hub with external power. The mixer should be connected to directly to your computer via USB, and then select the MP2015 as the audio interface in Traktor's preferences.
