DDJ SZ NOT WORKING WITH MACOS SIERRA (SOLVED)

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that from my compatibility tests DDJ SZ does not function at all in MacOS Sierra. Have tried on two separate macs with no luck. It doesn't even show up in audio devices unless you disable System Integrity Protection, and although it does show up with this disabled, no sound will play from it at all.

So please if you have a DDJ SZ DO NOT "update" to Sierra... you won't be able to use the controller anymore!

On the flipside DDJ SX-2 DOES seem to be working OK, not sure how it would work if you had System Integrity Protection disabled.

EDIT- re-installed the driver for El Capitan a few times and it's fixed. DDJ SZ can now be used from traktor or itunes, spotify etc. without any problems.

@keiko This post isn't about Serato, it's about the DDJ-SZ being completely incompatible with macOS Sierra, not even recognised as an audio device.

@hitoshi Tsushima I did download the El capitan driver for the SZ but it made no difference unfortunately.

Hello Totally Dude,

Would you please check some status described below.

1. Version of driver and firmware.

Launch [DDJ-SZ Setting Utility] and then click [ABOUT] tab.

You can check the driver version and firmware version on this tab.

What version numbers are displayed on the tab?

2. Audio Device Status

Launch [Audio MIDI Setup] and display [Audio Devices] window.

Is DDJ-SZ displayed on left side of window?

3. Status of DDJ-SZ

After connecting the DDJ-SZ to Mac, How is the USB A or B Button LED and USB connection indicator LED?

If DDJ-SZ is successfully connected to Mac, USB A or B button LED (Green) and USB connection indicator LED (Orange) is lit.

4. Installation of macOS Sierra

How do you install the macOS Sierra into your PC, clean install, update from El Caiptan or update from other version of OS X?

Best regards.
