DDJ-RB Headphone Mix Control

Hi,

Before I click BUY, can somebody answer me this question..

I notice the DDJ RB doesn't have a headphone mix button so I can have a certain volume of the track that is playing mixed with a certain volume of the song I am trying to mix in. Is there any other way to do this with this controller?

Thanks

Matt

Sorry. I was wrong about this. Our engineers have informed me that this operation is indeed possible.

How to control Headphone mix:
1. When the CUE button is turned to max:
Turn on the HEADPHONES CUE 1 or 2 button on DDJ-RB where you want to use.
Turn off the HEADPHONES CUE MASTER button on DDJ-RB.

2. When the CUE MASTER is set at the center position:
Turn on the HEADPHONES CUE 1 or 2 button on DDJ-RB where you want to use.
Turn on the HEADPHONES CUE MASTER button on DDJ-RB.

3. When the MASTER is turned to the max:
Turn off the HEADPHONES CUE 1 or 2 button on DDJ-RB where you want to use.
Turn on the HEADPHONES CUE MASTER button on DDJ-RB.

I think I understand what is trying to be said... they're equating 3 different button combinations to 3 different positions on a cue-mix knob.

First, there is no "mix" control to pan between the cue and master, as there is on some other products. What the DDJ-RB features is a "full on/off" selection for the mixing, but with a slight flex in the volume...

If channel 1 is playing to the master, pressing the MASTER CUE button will put the master audio in your headphones. This is the equivalent of a mix knob being full to the MASTER side.

With channel 1 playing to the master (and in master cue from the previous step), and channel 2's fader is down, pressing the CHANNEL 2 CUE button will put both the master and channel 2 into your headphones. This is the equivalent of a mix knob being at the middle.

This allows you to combine the two sources in the headphones, but as soon as you start raising the fader on channel 2, you'll hear the audio level for that source increase because you're cueing it both on the channel and on the master, so it will seem louder. This is the "flex" I described.

With both channels playing to the master, and only the master headphone cue enabled, pressing either the channel 1 or 2 cue buttons will ADD that audio to the headphone feed, making it louder.

If you want to cue ONLY the channel, and not hear the master audio, selecting only one of the channel headphone cue buttons will send only that signal to the headphones. This is the equivalent of a mix knob being turned fully to the CUE side.

So, long answer short ... you can't granularly control the level of the audio, but you can at least "bump" the audio up by selecting combinations of sources.

hey, I can't hear only one channel at the time. With CH1 Up,and CH2 Down, if I turn CUE2 on, I will hear both channels ( probably, the master + CH 2 ).

But I want to hear only CH2 ( down ) , while CH1 is playing.

Please help me

I am with Bruno Santos on this one. It seems like a year ago when I pressed cue for a track, i heard ONLY that track. now, i hear the master and the cue together. I am having to trim the cue tracks very high in order to hear them over the master. the master button is not selected. Any ideas?

Have you checked the audio configuration in the rekordbox preferences? Can you please post a screenshot of those settings?

Hey, the master cue is louder than my channel cues. Was there an update? I feel like before it was the other way around. How can I raise the volume of the channel cues? Or at least put master and channel cues on the same volume?
