WAV is a higher quality recording and doesn't require additional processing to encode the stream, so it's a better option, even if it needs an extra step later.

Record file format when recording
Is there an option to record in anything other than wav when using rekordbox to record tracks, as wav doesn't support meta data it's pretty useless to me.

Is it difficult to convert the file to any format you want then add metadata?

Of course not, but it's an extra step doing something out of rekordbox. I'm trying to streamline the proces not add extra work.

Next time you convert a wav file to mp3 look at the load it puts on your computer. You do not want that while you are performing.
