Ddj-rZ pitch fader resolution

Even at 6%, the resolution still only goes in 0.07 increments 😩

It would be nice to get an official response on this...

Is it possible for an update to allow better increments?

This is a big issue for me too. I was specting a very precise pitch control adjustment. With DDJ SX2 for Serato you can make .01 adjustment to the BPM of the track, if you do it with care of course. So I was specting the same or similar for rekorbox DJ and DDJ RZ, but is not, is working for me the same as you posted.

I've tried CDJ 850 for Rekordbox Performance Mode and the pitch is more precise some times it goes on .01 steps some times a little more, but more precise. So is not the rekordbox software is the DDJ RZ pitch control, or the impementation-mapping with rekord box.

I will love to see better reults on this matter. You should provide the pitch control value in % in two decimal place like CDJ. Not the actual BMP of the playing track that should also be two decimal places(you can get this on vertical view mode). And with this allow increments of 0.02% like you do on CDJ. Isnt Rekordbox DJ about mimic CDJ behavior?

It would be really nice to be able to get tracks to match without needing to adjust every X seconds.

I have the same issue on my XDJ-RX. I think its to do with the pitch controls midi resolution is 7-bit against the CDJs are 14-bit.

This means there is no fine adjustment available, which is very annoying. My old R1 had a higher resolution pitch and like you said I could adjust the bpm with about 0.02 - 0.05 accuracy.

Currently if I have my RX set to 10% range it does 0.12 - 0.18 changes for every increment that is recognised.

I'm hoping this can be addressed in a future firmware update.

Given this issue has been discussed since the DDJ-R* line was released and previous responses from pioneer suggest that they won't fix it...

I've got a support inquiry closed now where pioneer confirmed the fader resolution against an SX/SX2 in-house and yet hasn't done anything about it.

I can't believe that this many units across your entire product range exhibit this precision issue.

I really hope something is done about it then, as it's very frustrating. Especially if you are mixing faster music, as obviously it noticeably goes out of time much faster.

I can't imagine (unless intended) they would put lower quality pitch faders in a unit, so it has to be a firmware issue...?

The faders themselves are not the issue. as I mentioned its the Midi resolution Pioneer are using for the fader. At 7-bit it is just not good enough on a controller costing that much money in my mind.

Even a cheap numark controller have more precise control due to using 14-bit midi resolution. Google it and it will explain a lot.

But if the faders are only physically able to work in 7 bit resolution, then no firmware upgrade will be able to solve it...

Nothing to do with the fader itself. Its the firmware that is the issue that only provides 7-bit midi resolution.

Infact the fader used in the RZ is the DCV1033 and is the same one that is used in the CDJ-850 /  CDJ-900 /  CDJ-900NXS /  DDJ-SZ /  DDJ-S1 /  XDJ-RX /  XDJ-1000 and more.
