DDJ SX2 dead LED?

Quite simple problem- the LED for the 'Deck 1' button on my DDJ SX2 simply does not come on. The button otherwise responds correctly and without issue, it simply does not want to light up.

A possible similar problem is my Hot Cue button for the left decks displays two distinct colours at all times- split down the middle. Sometimes it's light blue/dark blue, othertimes it's white/pink- as if one of the LEDs were defective.

Any advice on what to do?

Edit: Not sure why this topic was ever closed and labelled as 'answered', because it sure as heck was not. This unit has been an absolute disaster for me and Pioneer has never admitted or taken responsibility for the many obvious manufacturer's defects in the DDJ-SX2 series.

This was the single worst, most costly purchase I have ever made in my life. And Pioneer's affiliate repair company insisted it must be liquid damage and said I would be responsible for the repair costs.

Sorry you're experiencing these issues, Robert.  Sounds more like an internal circuit board issue rather than dead LEDs.  Could be something as simple as a loose solder connection.  Unfortunately, these things can happen sometimes during the manufacturing process.

Please contact your nearest authorized repair center to have your SX2 repaired.

Actually, I can now confirm there are at least 3 dead LEDs in this unit.

The Deck 1 button LED is completely dead, and I've lost the colour green on both the right side of the 'Hot cue' button on Deck 1/2 (giving the button the appearance of being two colours simultaneously), and the green colour for the third pad on the 2nd row is also

This is ridiculous- the unit is only a year and a half old at most. It's kept in my studio, away from any liquids, and has never been gigged with. It is regularly cleaned and dusted as well. I never had any problems like this with my old Traktor S4 controller.

Yes it's scary, so many people have the same issues on same exact controls on DDJs when you check on YouTube / Google, typically :

- Left Deck 1 button LED

- Right pitch fader

- Load buttons

- X-fader (btw not even user-replaceable/upgradable on the new SX3 !)

In the paper it's excellent stuff. In reality it's poor quality unfortunately.

I like Rekordbox but unfortunately the hardware scares me when I read all this.

@Jay > Can I ask why you dug up a 3+ year old forum thread to post that comment?

There may be some faults which do occur for many users, but given the tens of thousands of DDJ-SX2's out there which do not have these issues, I'd say your fear is unfounded.
