Really hope Pioneer addresses this properly in a firmware update soon.

FollowPoor sound quality when recording from XDJ RX3
I've just bought an RX3 and find that the sound is really poor when I record a live mix via the USB 2 port (MASTER REC function).
The sound seems compressed, flat... Especially in the treble and medium, where it's clearly lacking. What's more, to get more or less the same volume as the original tracks, I have to push the TRIMs of each track into the red, or at least dark orange (levels between 6 and 12 on the indicator lights).
I'm on version 1.15, controler is brand new and my sounds are of excellent quality (wav or flac).
It seems that versions 1.16 or 1.17 are even worse, reading the comments on Reddit...
Considering the price of the device, I'm really disappointed.
Recordings made with my DDJ T1 dating from 2010 were of much better quality, this is beyond comprehension!
It seems I'm not the only one complaining about this problem, @pioneer do you have an explanation/solution???

Firmware updates after v1.15 have degraded the audio, making it sound "compressed", "muddy in the mids", and "flat in the highs". Reason Firmware after v1.15 degrades the RX3 audio (compressed and flat).
You can try the Solution: Downgrade to v1.15, Keep the clipping lower, Turn off the limiter, and Use REC OUT to record.
I actually had a similar experience with the XDJ RX3—my recordings sounded way less dynamic than they did during live playback. I tried different USB sticks and even downgraded the firmware, but the "flatness" you mentioned never really went away. For fun, I sometimes take a break and play a few rounds of Geometry Dash to reset my ears and relax. But honestly, Pioneer should seriously address this issue for people who want studio-quality recordings.
It sounds frustrating to experience poor sound quality with your XDJ RX3. Have you tried adjusting the EQ settings or using different recording software? It might help improve the output. Traffic Rally
When TRIM Agario is pushed too far (into the red zone), it can cause distortion and compression, which reduces the sound quality, especially in the high frequencies. Try adjusting the TRIM level to a moderate level (usually green or yellow) to ensure that the sound is not distorted.
@hollow knight, According me, it must be frustrating to deal with poor sound quality on your XDJ RX3. Have you tried tweaking the EQ settings or testing a different recording program? Doing so might help enhance the audio output.
Although you're currently on version 1.15 (crossy road), check if there are any additional updates or patches from Pioneer that might address these audio issues. Sometimes, downgrading to a more stable version can also help if newer versions are causing problems.
If you’re having to push your trims into the red just to get a usable recording level, something definitely isn’t right. The flat, compressed sound you’re describing matches what a few other users have mentioned, so it doesn’t seem isolated. It might be worth testing a recording at lower overall levels just to rule out internal clipping, but honestly Pioneer should address this — either with a firmware fix or at least a clear explanation of what’s going on. golf hit
