Rekordbox Automatically overwrites playlists on USB drive

This is a reopening of an older post as the answer didn't solve the issue.

https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360015203366-Unwanted-automatic-synchronizing-PC-to-USB

Steps to recreate:

1. On a PC or Laptop, sync playlists to a USB drive using 'Sync Manager'

2. On another device (performance laptop for example) load Rekordbox and connect the USB drive, with the intention of using the already sync'd tracks in a performance.

If these steps are followed, the performance laptop in the above example will immediately start overwriting the playlists and tracks on the USB drive with those on the performance laptop.

The solution in the link post is invalid because unchecking the box prevents playlists from being sync'd to the USB drive in the first place:

This is mind-numbingly basic. The entire premise that you can plug a USB drive in to a device running Rekordbox and play the music from that drive on the device is at the heart of why Rekordbox exists.

So frustrating how much money is spent on Pioneer equipment and they can't get the basics right.

Hi Gabriel, thanks for the swift reply.

As this issue is common to many users, can you explain why you're asking me to fill out a support ticket? This is a user experience improvement request for the developers, so not sure how the support team can help.

Thanks

We suppose the issue happens because both computers same library ID.

That is why we would need you to create a ticket so we can check some information.

Hey Gabriel,

Yes that is probably the case, as I import the library on my performance laptop from my desktop pc which I use to organise my music. So no need for the support ticket I guess? How can I fix this?

Thanks

Ok will do. Still questioning why as the information will be useful to everyone who has the same issue?

Ok great, maybe you can submit a ticket for me? Not sure what else I can do with that reply...

FYI every time a new version of Rekordbox is released I shudder with fear and hold off updating for as long as possible as the last THREE times I've updated to the latest version I've had to roll back due to bugs. So it doesn't suprise me that there are also website issues.

... And you can probably tell I'm pretty frustrated with PioneerDJ. After investing many THOUSANDS of £££ in PioneerDJ equipment it's very annoying to experience untested software releases, and seeming little or no attention to user experience.
