XDJ-RX2 and Playing From RekordBox

I understand you can connect this unit to a laptop to play from but can someone tell me how this works please.

Do you play in Rekordbox performance mode like you would with a DDJ-RX and enjoy all of the effect options etc or do you just play from export mode?

@Colesy > You have two options -- one is to use it as a controller (like the DDJ-RX) with rekordbox in performance mode, the other is as a stand-alone unit, which can use either a USB drive or rekordbox in EXPORT mode as the source. Unlike the original XDJ-RX, there is no ethernet port on the RX2, so you do connect it via USB, and it creates a network bridge (with the proper driver installed), allowing you to "link" it in the same way.

I have a XDJ RX2 you can use it with RBDJ in performance mode similar to how you would use it with a DDJ RX.

@Arthur > It depends how you want to use the RX2:

- Stand-alone Mode: Yes.

- Export Mode: No; you can use the USB-Ethernet Export to connect and play as if your computer were a USB drive.

- Performance Mode: No; the RX2 is simply a controller for rekordbox dj.

Hey there Pulse if you're there.

I successfully installed the drivers and now have my Mac connected to the RX2, however now I can't get the software to connect to hardware. Similar to the problem this guy is having:

Assigning each of the sides and switching the mixer to midi control.

@Woo Digs > Unplug the RX2 from the USB and close rekordbox.

Open Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup, and open the MIDI Studio window.

At the top, click the drop-down (it may say "Default"), and select "New Configuration." Create a new one, naming it whatever you want. Connect the USB cable and see if the RX2 appears, if not, click the rescan MIDI setup button (grey circle with a loopy arrow). If it still doesn't appear, there's another issue to check, but it should show up, so now try within rekordbox again.

Created new configuration. RX2 shows up no problem.

In the preferences window, audio is set to RX2 and output channels are master and phones. Just as you have it in your video.

The audio is playing through the speakers connected to the hardware, however I'm still experiencing the same issue.

The hardware is still not controlling the software on the laptop.

Pressing the midi button and assigning both of the sides, putting the mixer into midi control is not working for me.

That photo shows the step before the unit is fully connected to the computer, thus there won't be anything on the display as one might expect.

Are you possibly using High Sierra?

Yes. I am using High Sierra.

How do I fully connect the unit to the computer?

When I press load 1&2, my mixer does not automatically switch to midi control as it does in your video.

Did you install the drivers properly? You need to bypass the High Sierra security...

1) Install drivers (yes, again).

2) Disable the driver security.

3) Install the drivers once more immediately.

I've literally installed the drivers 20 times and I have disabled the security.

Are you trying to use rekordbox in performance mode or export mode?
