Firmware update issue CDJ-2000 Nexus

Hello all,

has anyone heard of an issue while trying to update the firmware were the message on the screen remains at ' Connect USB storage device into top USB port '?

I have tried formatting multiple USB sticks to FAT32 using both Mac and Windows PC. I have tried quick and full format and the Firmware wont proceed past the notification message.

I am currently on v1.21 on both CDJ's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Rick

Did you...

1) Unzip the download

2) Place the UPD file at the root of the drive

?

Also, if you have downloaded it with Safari, it can auto-unzip and corrupt the updater; please try using another browser.

Hello,

and yes I unzipped and placed only the UPD file at the root level. After format there is not on the drive, so it's at the root.

I have used Safari, Chrome, and IE to download.

Thank you.

Best,

Rick

Two other things to check...

1) That you've downloaded the firmware for the correct model CDJ:

2) Your USB drive is formatted FAT32 - with master boot record (MBR). If your drive isn't MBR, it will not be read by the player.

Thank you for this. I was not able to find the CDJ-2000NXS firmware from you site directly, so I was using the NXS2 as that was all I had access to.

Now that you provided the link I am able to update the firmware.

This should be available on the site for users who have a non NXS2 version...

Great to hear that worked, glad we figured out what it was. ;)

I pull all my stuff off bookmarks locally, but it would help to know what site you were visiting that you couldn't find it so we can help our web team.

Yes, this was awesome help thank you very much. I spun my wheels for a few days, but it's good to know you guys might make it easier for others. It could have just been me too as I didn't realize the units were discontinued and in the archive list. I never saw the archive list, so maybe the size of that font/color can be enhanced.

Also, the NX2 instructions or literature read that the firmware could be used for the NX, so this is why I keep trying to make it work..

In any case, thank you and now I also know how to navigate your site better.

Best,

Rick
