DDJ 1000 Pitch Control Issue

Problem : When mixing for a while or using effects the pitch control becomes unresponsive for a while.

You have to sometimes have move the slider back and forth to regain control.

Hope its a software or firmware issue that can be solved. Please look into this.

@Marc > That's called a "soft pick-up" and is normal after using sync. You can see the pitch and the current pitch % of the fader in the deck display.

i have experienced this as well, noticed that this happened when my pitch range was in wide mode. will do further testing in shorter ranges later.

Please note i do not use sync while playing and yes i can see the pitch in the jog display. The display shows the pitch increases and decreases but the its not applied to the song until a while after. Sometimes  i need to decrease my pitch all the way into negative to regain control. Sorry but this can't be normal. Please advise

@Marc > If you aren't using sync, then it wouldn't need to use a pick-up. Could you please shoot a video to show what's going on so I can pass it to our engineers?

Had a similar issue over the weekend in both situations, with the beat sync on & off. The pitch faders were completely unresponsive and I had to move them up and down like a crazy person every single time i wanted to adjust the bpm.

I just moved from serato to pioneer dj and love the new ddj 1000 controller. But I can't use it at an event with this type of issues. Pioneer DJ, please fix this soon.

@Raag > This is the way the pitch works in rekordbox; look in the jog wheel of the master deck (on screen) to see the orange number; that's the current value of the slider - move it to match the white number and then you have the ability to change it.

Same problem here.
When turning off the beat sync button and moving the pitch fader, the BPM still remains in sync for quite some time. It takes much to long before the pitch fader is responsive again & really hacks in to the work flow. This can't be normal. When beat sync button is on, BPM should be fixed, when turned off it should be readjustable IMMEDIATELY by the pitch fader and NOT after nearly half a minute. PLEASE Pioneer DJ, fix this issue please and live up to your reputation.

this is the way its always worked in rekordbox, moving the pitch fader to the maximum and then to the minimum extremely quickly will reset/unlock the pitch.

it is a horrible way of doing things made worse on the ddj1000 through lack of hardware red indicator arrows found on the rr rx rz series.

of course the pitch slider position is indicated in red under your main (white) bpm readout, if you move your pitch slider to the number indicated it will unlock.

but this requires thinking and wasted time, feels unnatural.

if the sync button operated as a button, ie on/off folk would be much happier.

You need to fix this issue of unresponsiveness of pitch slider. This is really not normal and is very annoying. When on Sync, I have to move down and up the slider before it responds and when it responds it will jump a big margin from current bpm  either up or down. Make it more responsive like Serato does.  I use sync and move the pitch slider when doing transitions . Sync is not only meant to stay on one bpm for me I use it for transitions a lot.

Rekordbox beat matching is so crap when beat matching manually too,  especially when catching up with tracks that is moving or has variable bpm.

@ Pioneer guys You need  to try and see the difference so you would experience what we are all talking about here.

Please fix this issue...

@Edwin > I use Serato and I'm familiar with the issue you're complaining about, and believe me, I'm on your side - the Serato pitch method is better (being able to use either deck to do it). How rekordbox operates is a software pick-up so you have to move the hardware to the position the software fader is at. You eventually get the hang of it if you use it enough, but still, I would prefer the other method, and we have made the importance of an improved function known to our rekordbox team -- but we don't have any information on if or when it would be added. Thanks for the feedback.
