MacBook Pro & PC issues

So I'm having an issue with Rekordbox. I'm not sure where the issue originates but I am sure that I've had it on both my 2016 MacBook Pro and my PC with both the Pioneer DDJ RX and Pioneer DDJ 1000. I will start with the specs for both computers:

My PC is an Asus Republic of Gamers laptop 2014 model G751J. It has a quad-core triple threaded at 2.4 gigahertz with a boost up to 3.4 gigahertz. It has 24 GB of RAM and two hard drives both solid state 1tb.

My MacBook Pro is a late 2016 model and is a quad-core with 2.6 GHz. It has 16 GB of RAM and an SSD with 256gb space. With that, I use an external SSD which is 500gb.

Again this problem exists and happens on both my PC and my MacBook Pro when using either the Pioneer DDJ 1000 or the Pioneer DDJ RX. On a side note, I still love both of those controllers so I still use both of those controllers frequently. I have tried several times to recreate this problem in my garage with a full DJ setup and had my system run for hours. I have never been able to recreate the problem. This only happens sporadically at different venues. Now that I think of it there are venues where it happens all the time and venues where it never happens. Does anyone think electricity could be an issue?

I will say that this problem does not happen every single time I DJ but randomly it does happen. I can't point it down to it being a heat issue but sometimes my MacBook Pro feels a little warm. I want to emphasize that it does not feel super hot to the touch but if I held my hand underneath it where the battery part is then after a while it would certainly get too warm for me to comfortably hold. I will also note that on my MacBook Pro these speakers on the actual Mac itself seemed to be very warm as well.

My PC doesn't overheat because I have an app that controls my fan and it never gets warmer than 50°C. In fact, most the time it stays right between 44°C & 46 °C even while putting it under a ton of pressure DJing, searching for music, or whatever else a DJ would normally do with a computer while actively at a gig.

I've had this issue for well over a year now and it is the reason I switched from my PC to a Mac. I thought this was a PC related issue and maybe the ASIO drivers weren't playing nicely or something. So when I switched to the MacBook Pro I never had that problem for probably the first 4 months. Then I slowly started noticing that problem happening with my Mac. So I switched back to my PC and the problem didn't seem to be there. But then it slowly came back as well.

I remember using Native Instruments Traktor DJ Pro and every now and then I would have to save my collection.nml but dumped all of their information because the one file that held all my tractor information we get so big with all the music that I have in there and all the different recordings and cue points in all the information that you would save as a DJ, the folder would get huge. I'm talking in the gigabytes like 15 to 20 GB. That always seemed to do the trick but I don't know if that's something I can do with rekordbox. I don't want to lose all my cue points or song analysis.

Now on my MacBook Pro at the time I only have about 9500 tracks on my external SSD, and on my PC I have just over 40,000 tracks on my internal SSD. Again I noticed the problem on both computers. I listed how many tracks I have on each because I used to think the problem lied within the number of tracks I had in there. I DJ predominantly weddings which is why I have so much music always with me. When I used to DJ clubs I would only bring a few hundred songs with me that fit the genre of Club I was DJing that night. But weddings as some of you may know are different because many different people from many different backgrounds will request many different types of music so I need to have it readily accessible. Also, I'm not always in an area where I can get internet service to download music from my cloud service.

Anyway, I'm giving you as much information as I can possibly think of and I know this is probably a long-winded thread but this is a problem I've been researching for 2 years now and I cannot come to a conclusion. I've already spent over $2,500 on the MacBook Pro including the Apple support LOL, and I just simply frustrated and at my wit's end with this problem. I will also make a quick note that I am using all new USB cables and as far as the MacBook is concerned it uses USB type-c which I purchased. I thought also there might be a problem with the USB to USB type-c adapter so I went straight USB from the controller to USB type-c to my MacBook Pro. That did not help the situation at all. I've also tried using different USB and USB C ports and there's no issue there. I've also run the activity monitor on my Mac and a similar monitor on my PC to see if there's a spike in CPU usage, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary. It is very difficult for me to recreate this problem for anyone because it's so Random.

I would love any help I can get from anyone.

lol - a massive amount of detail and background, but nothing on what the actual problem itself is. ;)

Boy, I am a complete idiot LOL. I double checked and triple check this email to make sure I had all the information in there and spelling grammar fixed but I never told you what the problem was lol. I will say this is a problem I've had in the past and I believe I've spoken to you about it @Pulse.

I'm having major lag issues between my controller and my computer whether it's my PC or my Mac with my Pioneer DDJ 1000 or my Pioneer DDJ RX. I'm going tomorrow to the Apple Store to see an Apple support specialist to see if there's anything wrong with my MacBook Pro but I am starting to doubt it's my MacBook Pro. Because I have the same issue with my PC. Again I'm just reaching for a solution here in every single Direction I can.

You may well have posted before, and we could have chatted at length about it, but I deal with around 200 new comments a day and have a hard time keeping up answering all of them, never mind keeping users straight and remembering who posted what - so my apologies!

Shoot me an email - pulse @ dj<that first part again>.ca, we'll get you sorted.
