The rekordbox license that came with the XDJ-R1 was to unlock rekordbox 2. With the release of rekordbox 3, the software was made free for all to use without requiring a license.
As of rekordbox 4, the PERFORMANCE mode was introduced via the "dj" plus-pack, and a license was required for that - however the license you have (from rekordbox 2) is not valid to unlock performance mode.
Should you wish to use the "dj" plus-pack, you must purchase a new license from rekordbox.com, or a compatible hardware unit which includes a bundled license.
