DDJ-1000 Sync Help

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble understanding the orange number underneath the BPM, it appears as soon as I hit BPM sync and then I can't adjust the BPM until I double click the orange text to reset the BPM.. Pretty much locks the BPM until I drag the tempo all the way up or down.. Which is a pain if I'm trying to quickly change between songs

This is how I have been working around this but perhaps there's a smarter way?

If track A is playing at about 110 and I'm about to mix in Track B which is 120, track B i will manually match BPM then turn on Master but no BPM sync for track B and adjust BPM accordingly..

I feel like this can be frustrating at times, especially when I have to pay so much attention to where I have the master track set, when in serato I can just hit sync and either tempo fader will work for adjustment.

I have attached a screen shot to help visualize

There must be a setting I'm missing.. Sorry I am new to rekordbox

the orange bpm should be where the pitch is when bpm is lower you have to put it up until pitch reach the orange bpm range then its adjustable again! Same with higher bpm then you have to put the pitch down!

It also won't change if the other deck is the Master, so make the deck you want to change the master and it will change.  But be careful, if beat sync is not on the other deck, which was the master, then it will not change tempo when you change the new master deck.

I still don't get it.. come someone explain clearly what the orange tempo signifies?

This seems so cumbersome compared to serato..

@Colton > I agree, the Serato system of "move either fader" is easier, but this is what we have for now.

Orange tempo = that deck has been sync'd to the other deck, and that number is where the temp would be based on the position of the fader. With the sync on that deck disabled, move the fader to match the current BPM and that will allow you to "pick up" the tempo and set it wherever you want.
