Recordbox 5.0.3. Crashed my MacBook Pro 15 -2011

I've never had one issue with either my MacBook or Recordbox until I downloaded 5.0.3.

I got a notice as I always do from Recordbox and so I downloaded as suggested 5.0.3. and didn't think any more of it. Started as usual and everything seemed fine. Doubleklicked to play a song and went in the next room. Suddenly the song ended to early and I went in to check. Saw that my MacBook had rebooted so started Recordbox once more and pressed play. Suddenly the screen was all over the place, with stripes. I had to force a reboot once more. This time the MacBook wouldn't start at all. It booted halfway and then the screen went white I never once thought it had anything to do with Rekordbox and I thought that it had to be my screencard. Same did everyone else. Easyfix for this would be to by a "new" old MacBook (2011) and just move my SSD-disk (1,5 year old Samsung 850) from the broken one to the "new" one, so this is what I did. But NO, This did'n work at all!! Recordbox had totally fried/corrupted my SSD-disk.

So all in all I lost 1,5 year of playlists and songs -aprox. 21000 song and everything else I've done on my computer during this time! And it cost me aprox. 1000 Euro + 2 days none stop of my life to find this out.
THANK YOU Recordbox!!!

Im stuck with an old backup with an old version 4.5.0. witch I would like 2 upgrade to 5.0.2. witch I can't find a download for. I refuse to download 5.0.3. in fear of the same happening again.

Can someone please help me out with a 5.0.2. download?

Dr. Nat

downgrade your mac!! sierra on 2011 macbook is bad! the best for it would be maverics but due to the programs what need a newer version of osx it would be good if you have el capitan. i run my macbook pro 15´ on el capitan and have no issues at all with it i can run rekordbox for hours without any problem!

I recommend Yosemite, it's what I still use on my 2012 non retina and I've had 0 issues with any of the 5.x.x releases.

5.0.3? Do you mean 5.3.0?

Besides, that computer is 7 years old, you can't really blame the software.

^^^ heeyyy now, I think there is plenty of life in any of the core i5/i7s for doing audio stuff.

Sounds like the drive was defective, because normal software does not "fry" SSDs. Frustrating for sure, but a combination of OS rollback/clean install and a new drive are your best option.

Also, back up, back up, back uppppp.
