Bit of background, I have been using Serato (Scratch Live to DJ Pro) the last 8 years or so as a Mixed format DJ with a Hip Hop bias. I bought a DDJ 400 this week to try rekordboxdj properly. I have a 2017 MBP with 16GB Ram and 2.9ghz i7 Intel cpu. My music is on a 4TB Samsung 860 SSD in a Thunderbolt 2 enclosure. I have 30k tracks (audio + video) in my rekordbox collection from a total of 60k i have in my serato library. I used rekord buddy to sync just my crates over to rekordbox.
- it takes about 3 mins for rekordbox dj to load my library, is this normal? I can picture a scenario where one has to do a restart mid gig for some reason. and thats anxiety provoking. On the flip rekordbox dj closes very fast which is equally important. Serato DJ takes a while to close when exiting the program.
- i use instant double a lot (my weakness) as i'm more comfortable scratching on the right than the left. Instant double in rekordbox is not as "instantaneous" as i'm used to in Serato. There is a gap before the song appears on the opposite deck. Is this normal behaviour?
- mixed audio + video playlist is still not available and i'm aware that many people have requested it so i wont dwell on that. Its probably the most important thing that will prevent a certain cohort of serato/virtual dj users like myself from making a full switch. Hopefully it becomes a reality sooner than later. And please its important that its implemented globally i.e not tied to having rekordbox dj video license. Perhaps that's the challenge with implementing it. I dont know anyone that maintains separate audio and video crates, at the end of the day its all music and one should be able to use any music media file interchangeably
- Overall i enjoyed my first practice session with the DDJ 400 and Rekordbox DJ yesterday.

- Is there a "snap" function. e.g. when using tempo sync, when i press the sync once, the tempo matches up, but it doesn't snap to the nearest transient on the track i'm syncing to
- Is there relative pitch slider functionality or a way to activate this? i noticed i have to move the tempo slider on the controller back to its absolute value before further changes are registered.
- The forum seems not to be working properly on chrome (desktop and mobile), it just keeps looping back to the sign in page. Posting on firefox.
