Export and import Grid, hot cues, scenes BUT NOT the music files themselves

I have all my Music in my Dropbox Folder, thus, in a Cloud. I did a lot of work for correcting grids, Scenes and Setting hot cues. I would like to save that work, but I don't want to move my Music files. I know that the grid, Scene, hot cue Information is stored somewhere on my C: drive. But I would rather like to have it in my dropbox as well (so all my editing is backed up automatically), or at least from time to time do a Manual Export to the dropbox Folder. I already did the latter by using "Export Collection in XML Format", but I have no clue, whether that worked. Most surprisingly, you can Export the Collection by doing so, but there is NO respective Import function… So why should I Export something, which I later on cannot Import????

The Point is: I want a reliable backup (and Import) of my grids, hot cues, Scenes but not of my Music files. How canI do that?

Thanks a lot in Advance!

if you are on MacOS you may want to check this out

If you just want to know how the Rekordbox.xml works (for either Windows or MacOS) check out the freely downloadable CBT manual it got it explained in detail.

Thanks a lot, but that is too complicated for me, as I am not an expert.

So I maybe should manually export the xml from time to time, but the question remains:

How can I IMPORT the exported xml later? (Overwriting my current grid, hot cues, etc.)

@MixMasterG: Thanks a lot, but where in the manual can I find it?

MixMaster G: I found the manual, but within it, I did not find the explanation how to import a previously exported xml

@Pulse: How does this work, to import the xml which I have saved previously?
