Unable to export playlists to usb: "One or more files were not exported"

I am unable to export my rekordbox playlists onto my USB. I have prepared a few playlists inside a folder on rekordbox and am trying to export the entire folder onto a USB.

The export process always fails at a random point, stating that "One or more files were not exported". I had a look through the export log to see if there's a reason for this, but the log has no information about any errors, it simply shows me the Artist, Title, Album and Location of the exported tracks so it's completely useless to me.

I have tried using two separate USBs formatted to FAT32. Same issue happens if I try to export the playlists individually instead of exporting the entire folder.

All of the tracks inside the playlists seem to be analysed without any issues and play back correctly.

I'm doing this in Export mode.

Any help will be appreciated. I would love to be able to use the rekordbox function on my CDJs eventually...

Thanks

OS: High Sierra 10.13.6

Rekordbox: 5.4.0

Okay, you have the log -- did you check those files to see if they...

- have a path longer than 255 characters?

- contain irregular characters or symbols in the name?

- are of an unsupported filetype or bit/sample rate combination?

- are potentially damaged?

When you say the track path is longer than 255 characters, are you referring to the file name or the actual file path? Sorry I wanted to be clear on that one.

No irregular characters or symbols - the track names are also read perfectly when being read by CDJs without the use of rekordbox.

Filetypes in use are *.mp3, *.wav and *.aiff, but vast majority (over 90%) are mp3s (sample rate 44100).

All tracks play back fine on CDJs without the use of rekordbox and also play back fine from inside rekordbox software, or from iTunes. The only issue I am having is when exporting.

I also tried reinstalling the software but it didn't solve the issue.

@Toderine > Have you narrowed it down to a specific song you know can't be exported?

There are multiple songs that give this error. For example i have noticed that 30 out of 112 from a playlist, ther are not exported. One common thing among unexported songs is that all of them were downloaded from same source.
However, in other cases is totally diferent, nothing in common.

@Ryan > The songs may be in M4A format... or another format unsupported by the players.

@Leander > As noted in all responses above, if the song name is too long or a format that can't be exported, then that would be why it doesn't export. Check the log file in your user's Documents\rekordbox folder for info.

@pulse

That is not the problem as the files are just regular .mp3, .wav, .aiff, .flac and so on, and the file name is not the problem as other songs in the folder are able to be exported.

I'm experiencing the same issue. The files that don't get exported are the ones that have been imported into the rekordbox library from an external HardDrive. All the files that are on my mac HD export fine.

 Any ideas?

Think I've got my issue sorted. I just uploaded everything to iCoud, I'm guessing they have to be local on your device that's running rekordbox. Should explain your issue since theyre on an external hard drive ..?

Its not super obvious but if you click on the orange ! symbol in the tracklist in rekordbox it told me what the error was.  File location.   Pioneer could make this a lot more user friendly if they would print the actual error message in the log file and or pop up a descriptive error when you do the export.  Would be a lot more fun spending time DJing and less time trouble shooting your clunky software.

@Ghost Notes > It could be the file location was not available, or the path was too long. Did you look at the error log in the Documents\rekordbox folder?

Same issue happening here. Checked everything noted above, files appear perfectly normal yet Rekordbox refusing to export to USB. Has anyone figured out what's going on?

Experiencing exactly the same problem out of a sudden. Appeared this week and doesn't let me export ANY track to my USB anymore.

Tried:
- Uninstalling Rekordbox
- Different USB's
- Different playlists

What I noticed is that reexporting existing tracks that used to be on the USB before, do work. Super weird...

Ya it appears the issue started happening with this most recent update. I had a big gig Friday and I wasn't able to play some of my music because of it.

One workaround that I have found is to essentially drop the track into Ableton and export a new wav with no metadata entirely. It appears that the issue has something to do with data associated with the files. No idea whats happening... Even some tracks I pull directly from Beatport are failing to export.
