Playlists from harddrive

Dear all

here is my situation and question:

i just bought myself a DDJ-400 with rekordbox. I'm coming from a Newmark controller using Serato.

My question is concerning the creation of playlists and keeping them updated.

In serato, i was able to navigate to my harddrive folders and create crates out of them. When new songs would be added to those HD folders, i could drag the folder onto the crate and this one would be updated.

As i am new in rekordbox, i would like to know how i can achieve this?

Do i navigate to explorer and drag the folders to playlists to create new lists? Do i do the same to update the playlists?

Can someone please indicate me how to do this?

Thank you

However you like. You could create a playlist from an entire folder - right-click on the folder and click this to convert that folder to a playlist.

You can drag a folder into a playlist to update it with the contents of that folder... lots of options.

Hi, thanks,

i indeed found out i could just drag & drop. The only thing is, when i want to update an existing playlist and dragging a folder on top of it, it will always create a new playlist (i suppose the content and metadata like hotcues remains as this is stored on the collection?)

If you drag a folder into a playlist, it should update the playlist itself -- if you drag it to the tree, it would create a new playlist.

Yes, the metadata / cues / etc. would remain as any track already in the collection is not updated.
