Hi Pioneer Dj, is there any update about this problem??
Hi pioneerdj. I'm Wisco from Cavite-Philippines. I have my new ddj1000 a week ago. But I notice that the crossfader of controller mixer vs the rekordbox mixer is not match at the center. Rekordbox was off-center by -1 line as compare to the controller. Then if I centered it, the crossfader on rekordbox was not moving even I moved the crossfader of ddj1000. Error was +1 line and -1 line from the center.
Is my new ddj1000 unit having the problem or the software or firmware itself?
Is there any actions to resolve this problem? If yes how? Of no, what pioneer will do?
Your prompt reply is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Pioneer Dj, is there any update about this problem??
@pulse, what is the status??
Can I ask everyone here if they feel there is an issue of volume level or simply that the hardware fader doesn't match the visual display of the fader within the software?
Yes @pulse there is an issue. First this is unusual and affects the sounds like driving a car, steering wheel must be at the center when you at straight path right? Second it also affect your performance, its very annoying when everytime you see it that there is an error on the screen. And third it affects it price when you sell it to the other people (cant afford buy new one) as second hand.
So now please pioneer dj (@pulse) advise your authorized dealer all through out the world to recall all the units with this kind of problem. This is a very serious problem..
I will not stop talking to this forum and here at Philippine Tech while this problem was not fixed.
It seems like pioneer dj is not affecting on this problem in the way that you asked us if there is an issue.
I think I need to talk with you @pulse please give me your contact else heres mine <SNIP>. Or you may contact phil. zamony venture corp. <SNIP>
Im seriuos about this @pulse.
Hi Pulse. here is a video that I've done showing the volume level changes when moving the crossfader from A to the centre. you can hear that it's not balanced when using the actual hardware.
are you able to use a random unit to test in your studio to see if this fault occurs?
I've also acquired older firmware versions from technical support but the fader does the same.
Howver ver. 1.05 acts better out of them all.
@Wiso > Sorry, I don't make personal calls to customers. I have removed your phone numbers for privacy. Trust me, our product and engineering teams are, indeed, taking this seriously and that's why I have been asking for your response to the questions I'm posting.
@Ravinstomper > Thanks for the video.
Awesome stuff Pulse. thanks again. it's most appreciated :)
looking forward to hearing more on the results when the engineers' report back.
It's nice to hear that @pulse, Thank very much for your understanding.
And we really rely on you that this discussion will properly address to all the pioneer dj like Japan, Singapore and specially here in the Philippines.
Just keep us posted and updated.
Thanks, I appreciate your patience while they work on it.
Hi @pulse, Is there any update about this problem??
I'd give it a while Wisco for them to really get to the bottom of this problem and to fix it properly than giving us a hack job for a fast turn over.
fingers crossed we may have a result before the year is out. but here's me hoping.
Yes @ravinstomper, we're hoping. But as long as @pulse will give us an update on what pioneer dj doing to resolve this, long wait does not matter to me.
Nothing to update you with at this time.
happened on both my units so i sold them and left rekordbox, this issue is nothing new and i suspect effects every unit but folks simply dont notice as they dont have there crossfader on screen and also dont notice the audio shift either.
whats up @pulse... Is there any update about this problem???
Sorry, no info yet -- I'll post when I do.
Merry Christmas!!!
@Pulse, Is there any good news?
See my last reply.
I've came to post about this issue also, I can move my crossfader to the 2nd line from the middle on either side and it makes zero difference to the sound and onscreen the fader remains in the middle as if i have not touched it.
Only way i can get it to move and effect sound is a very quick tiny movement to the same line as if scratching.
I have only noticed this in the past few weeks after months of ownership.
yeah this "improved magvel fader" has a bad dead spot in the mid area. I noticed it around June time and I patiently waited long enough before I raised my concerns about it.
hope we get an update soon as I'd really like to use my lovely controller and all its parts as they are intended.
It has to be a software issue surely rather than hardware?
it's defo hardware mate as it happens with other dj / midi programmes.
if it was bad software coding in Rbdj the crossfader would not behave the same in traktor or virtual dj etc... but they all show signs of glitchy movements
the crossfader gives out bad midi messages on its position to the receiving software.
what's more the crossfader is built to be used for "internal" mode due to how the soundcard is routed to each channel
hey.. @pulse its new year!!! how about your update on this problem...
Hi @Pulse and the Pioneer team.
This drives me nuts! I need to be able to trust my equipment and I can't be looking at the screen to check crossfader position - I need to be able to go by feel and there's a big jump as the xfade 'catches' past the deadspot as I move it across. And it can make a big difference when I'm using the channel faders (xfade centred) and I drop down the DB's because the software still thinks I'm 2/3 across and not 1/2.
Bottom line is that I wouldn't have bought my DDJ-1000 if I'd known about this. I don't even mind having to buy a new xfade unit - I just want it to be accurate and reliable. Not too much to ask!
What can I do? Please help us!
Thanks! :-)
So I checked out the @ravinstomper video and tested my own.
Moving crossfader from A->Middle I get -0.5 line.
Moving crossfader from B->Middle I get -1.0 line.
Once the crossfader is in the middle I have +/-1 line play before it does anything.
What happens is that when I slide the crossfader fully across, (worse from B->A), the transition stalls in the middle and then accelerates from middle to [A] to catch up with the physical slider so it sounds like I'm dumping the next track in instead of doing a nice smooth transition.
It really seems that it's a hardware issue given the previous comments about it not working on other controllers. Is this why Pioneer are not responding? Is it time to return mine to the shop for a refund?
@Pulse - your feedback would be really appreciated!
We have responded, but there was also a break for the holidays in there.
I have an update, but I can't tell you what or when, just to be patient.
@Pulse - Thanks, but man! That's leaving us on the edge! I hope you mean days or weeks, not months! :-)
Sorry, already said too much!
firmware update ver1.06... a very little off centered but for me its negligible..
