The datafile.backup.edb might be corrupted, try copying the datafile.backup2.edb to the hidden rekordbox folder and rename it to datafile.backup.edb.
Hello,
I've searched high and low for information on my predicament and despite learning a few things, haven't managed to solve it...so here goes...
- Shutdown my macbook on 7/11/18 without noticing the SDD was effectively full (typically, I had just done a lot of beatgrid and playlist work; and added new tracks; ahead of a festival gig this coming Friday night and hadn;t bothered to export playlist files nor complete a backup)
- Couldn't switch the laptop back on
- Created a disk image to boot from on another machine, so I could reformat my laptop SDD
- Have booted the image this evening thinking that I could recover everything; and when I open RB from the image the entire library, minus 17 tracks, has gone. Collection, playlists and all.
- Have found the hidden library folder on the disk image I created and can see 'datafile.backup.edb' from about the time I shut my machine down. Also the 'masterPlaylists3.xml' from the same date/time. Are these this relevant files I need?
- Does anyone have any advice on how I can recover anything/everything or ideas on what I could do? Ideally in the next 24 hours as otherwise, I'm going to have to create a new database/collection etc, which I'd rather not do!!
Thanks in advance.

The datafile.backup.edb might be corrupted, try copying the datafile.backup2.edb to the hidden rekordbox folder and rename it to datafile.backup.edb.
But make sure you copy all three datafile.backup files first and store them in a safe folder. If you open and close rekordbox three times they will all be overwritten with your present collection.
