DDJ-RB PROBLEMS

I bought my ddj-rb last january to use over the ski season for my work as a dj in a bar.  The controller worked great with no problems all season. The decks then sat in my room unused over the 6 months of summer but since getting them back out to continue my work at the bar i have the controller is not working. 

The lights come on when plugged in and the device is also recognised within record box as an audio output but no other features work on the controller. is this because it is not recognised by the latest version of rekordbox or is it a simpler fix that i am over looking?
