The Sync button is active only when RB is in Export mode,if you are in Performance mode you don't see the button..

When you use the controller for mix you must use the Performance mode,Export mode is to prepare your tracks or prepare an usb stick to use with cdj/djm or the Rx2...with the Rx2 you can use it with the music on the usb(no pc needed) or via Rekordbox with a pc and in this case you use RB in Performance mode..hope to help you to clarify the doubt!👍🏻
