Rekordbox 5.4.2 - SLOW REACTIONS/NOT RESPONDING (Jog wheel) 2018/2019

I have recently discovered an issue where Rekordbox DJ is running with a delay and is partially unresponsive in performance mode.

The problem started around a week ago when connecting 2x CDJ-2000NXS2 & DJM-900NXS2 to my 2015 MacBook pro via USB hub. Since then, I have replaced all the USB Cables and the USB Hub and the problem still persists. Also, its not a fault with the equipment as a USB Stick directly into the decks work fine and is extremely responsive. Additionally, I have used various pioneer DJ equipment since and the same problem occurs.

The issues that I'm experiencing is when attempting to scratch on the jog wheel, Rekordbox it not very responsive. For example, scratching 1 bar works ok, rekordbox begins to struggle when scratching 1/2 bar and 1/4 bar is near impossible as rekordbox cant handle it. The indicator on the jog wheel does not circulate in a smooth motion and it has a very slight jerky motion to it.

Another issue I have is when using the "continuous playing" function, rekordbox will load the track but not automatically play as it has always done so in the past.

UPDATE:

I noticed something today which may be of use to diagnosing the problem.

Iv just finished from a gig and noticed that whilst I was playing, the sound coming out of the speakers sounded like it had an extremely fine 'transformer' effect applied to it. With the loud volume, it probably wasn't very noticeable to the crowd, but as a DJ it was hard to miss.

Also, adjusting the tempo had a direct impact on this. When the tempo was raised, the defect in the sound was more noticeable, however when the tempo is set to '0' the sound wasn't noticeable. This may be why trying to scratch quickly is an issue.

I'll try to get some content uploaded tomorrow for a better understanding.

@FASXO > Have you tried increasing the audio buffer size? Do you have any other applications or service running in the background that might affect performance?

Thanks for your response, the audio buffer size is currently set at 2016 samples which seems to be the highest number available.

No other applications are open or running during the operation of Rekordbox.

Im actually at a gig right now and the it's clear that when adjusting the tempo on my DDJ-1000, the audio will start to crackle. Scratching on the DDJ works fine, however when I connect to my CDJ's or any CDJ's at a club, scratching becomes impossible and the tempo adjust problems still occur.

I have no idea what could be wrong...

Yeah, 2016 is waaaay too big; try brining that down to around 256 and see if it persists.

Which OS are you running?

I think that just might have been the problem. I cant confirm for definite right now, but I'll check on the CDJ's when I get home and hopefully all should be running well!

Also, Im running macOS Mojave 10.14.1
