@Shaun > How do you have things set up / configured? Using that setup, it's possible to play a mix from rekordbox, without having any capacity to record the set.

I have a usb running from djm250 mk2 to MacBook. On performance mode the 2 jogs on the screen say external input. I click on the Rec and when I start playing the timer starts and it is recording. When I finish recording I can save recording and it gets anylised. I can load it onto deck 1 on performance mode screen on Mac but when I press play to here it back there’s no sound, the green volume meter at the top right of the screen isn’t even there.

How are you playing from the XDJs -- using USB drives? If that's the case, why are you using rekordbox in performance mode? If not, you have the channel selectors on the DJM set to the wrong input, as it should be "PC" input.

I’m using USB, the mixer is set to line. Like I say rekordbox is recording the mix and it anylisis it but I just can’t here it. I’m using performance mode to record the mix. Is this method not supposed to work?

There is no monitoring of the mix while it's recording, if that's what you're meaning.

So it is a way of recording but you will never be able to hear it?

Not through rekordbox while recording (unless you change the configuration of your audio setup, but that's more complex than you need to dive into).

Given your setup, you should be able to listen to the master output from the mixer, which is the same as what's going to the recording.

I am using xdj700's on performance mode as controllers and would like to record my set but the record function won't allow me to , is there a setting I am missing ? I have them set up as your tutorial on youtube , but as I say record function wont work , thanks in advance

@David > Saw your YouTube comment on my video but as you've posted here as well, easier to answer here!

What mixer are you using with them? The XDJs themselves only act as controllers. Are you using the rekordbox software mixer, or an external hardware mixer?
