WAV unsupported? Which values are the right ones?

Hi, I have WAVs from multiple sources, mainly Bandcamp, BoomKat, Juno & Beatport, and i got Unsupported error a lot...

Which values for WAV are the right ones ("maximum")?

For example I have file
> PCM signed 24-bit little-endian, 2117 kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels
that doesnt work, but it should I think
24 bit is ok, 44100 Hz should be also ok, is the problem 2117 kbps ??

I don't have players at home, so it's difficult to try-error test it

It's more about matching the right bit depth / sample rate; here you can see it also depends on the hardware you'll use it with:

CDJ-2000NXS2

CDJ-900

This time I had problem with XDJ-1000

I have checked the supported formats before, according to that the file mentioned in my original post should work, because it is 24 bit and 44100 Hz (it happened with multiple files with this values)

XDJ-1000 should support this files

I would just like to know what I'm doing wrong, before I convert all my files to 16bit (which looks that is working fine)

The XDJ-1000 supports WAVs at 16 or 24 bit for 44.1 or 48kHz, but I'm wondering if perhaps the limitation there is it's expecting the files to be at 16/44.1 OR 24/48, not 24/44.1.

So @pioneerdj - can we know what the limitation here is perhaps ? I have observed the same issue as the OP in multiple CDJs and in multiple wav music files.

For example my file is wav with 24 bitdepth, 2116kbps bitrate and 44100 Hz sample rate. Looking at the specs for both the CDJ NXS2 and XDJ1000 these files should work just fine but the reality is they don't ?

So can you please explain what is going on ?

@Pulse Thanks ! The file in particular was indeed downloaded from Bandcamp, although I believe I have seen this in files dl-ed from other merchants (but I could be wrong here). So you're saying that my file is 16 bit depth, with 44100Hz sample rate but Bandcamp encoding has annotated it wrongly to be 24 bit depth with 44100Hz sample rate which CDJ ignores ?

No -- the issue is more likely that the file has the PCM encoding set to the incorrect value, so the CDJ thinks it's multi-channel audio and freaks out. The data stream itself is still just stereo, but it's that bit flag which is incorrect. You can either manually edit that yourself or just re-encode the audio (even WAV > WAV) and it will be fine.
