Rec out to iPhone problem

Hi,

I am trying to stream live via instagram from my 900nexus to my iPhone 6s

i have connected the phono leads from the Rec out on the dim 900nexus to a rode SC4 which then goes into my iPhone.

Problem is, the level is way loud and distorted, i have to turn the channel faders down to practically nothing or the gain down to virtually nothing to get a signal on the phone where its not smashed - not ideal as i then get no lights on the mixer as the signal is so low and i mix on the faders, which is impossible when they can't go much above 1.

Any ideas how to solved this?

I can't use the booth or master outputs as they are already in use.

Thanks

That adapter is designed to basically allow you to use an external microphone with the iPhone, but you're trying to connect a line-level input to a mic-level connection. Unfortunately that won't work. You're better off getting an audio interface designed to work with iOS, or a line attenuator that converts the signal to a mic level.
