It has been addressed, we're not ignoring you, there is something on the horizon but I can't say what or when just yet. Patience please! :)
Hey Pioneer team!
I know this has been asked before, but the other threads do not seem to be being responded to.
When moving the crossfader on the DDJ-1000 from side to middle, it does not centre in Rekordbox. This results in a number of transition and sound problems. There's an effective dead zone in the middle of the crossfader of up to +/- 1 lines.
I've seen a comment that the fader is 'optimised' for scratching so is more responsive at the sides. But that doesn;t explain the dead spot, nor did the marketing for the console say 'only good for scratching', otherwise I wouldn't have bought it!
We need to know if it's a software or hardware problem and when/how it will be fixed? I cannot use the controller as is and am thinking of returning it for a refund. Please help us!
Thanks!

Have you already tried to change the Cross Fader Curve in Preferences > Controller > Mixer?
Hi @phonosuper
Yes, but it makes no difference.I have the curve now set to 'Linear', but it behaves exactly the same on 'Exponential' and 'Logarithmic'.
The physical slider is put to the middle crossfade position and this does not match the position in Rekordbox. Going from A->middle results in the fader stopping 0.5 lines short. Going from B->middle sees the on-screen fader stop the equivalent of 1 full line short.
I can then move the physical fader one line left or right with no change in the on-screen fader. This affects the music levels in a number of ways whilst mixing.
Others have stated that this 'dead-spot' also shows when midi-mapping in other controllers (I will try one later), so it looks like a hardware issue, but Pioneer are not responding with anything useful.
Someone else posted this video...Mine is that same expect A->Middle also stops short of the middle.
Exponential Curve, Linear Curve and Logarithmic Curve belong to the Channel Faders, not the Cross Fader, this setting is right below ...
Actually, just noticed that mine stops short B->Middle (Centres in video), and my A->Middle nearly centres.
If it was software, one would think that the issue would be consistent across consoles. However, whilst the dead-spot exists, the position of it seems to differ between consoles.
I'm hoping Pioneer come forward with a realistic explanation and fix.
@phonosuper - Sorry! Yes, I had the crossfader curve set to the 12 o'clock position. I have adjusted it to the extreme, both left and right, but the issue is the same.
You could also experiment with different Cut Lag values (on the same Mixer tab in Preferences).
Already tried that! No Change! :-(
