Salut Peiffer,
Did you look in the Documents\rekordbox folder for a log file? Or were there none present?
Bonjour,

Salut Peiffer,
Did you look in the Documents\rekordbox folder for a log file? Or were there none present?
Yes I did. There're some, but it's "import log" ... I read the last one (january 2018) and it's about another problem.
Can I suggest you try exporting small batches of songs to see if you can narrow it down to the potentially problematic file(s) so we can see why it might be causing the export to fail?
Ok. I'll try. When exporting, does RB begins with the oldest track of the playlist and progress to the newest ?
To be honest, I'm not sure there is a method to the madness!
If you select just a portion of the files to export (say 100) and then try, it will be quicker than trying to slice the whole playlist by halves to try and narrow it down.
Well, I tried but I'm not sure it helps ...
- When I export a group of single tracks (right click on the track & export to usb HDD), I get a export log at the end of the process (very long by the way : 1h/40 tracks) saying which are not exported, but not why ... And I can't guess just by reading the log ... The tracks have nothing in common ... typical exemple is : /Volumes/Mac HD/Profil/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Bent/As You Fall Guy J Remix/01 As You Fall (Guy J Remix) - 5A.mp3
- When I export a playlist, I don't have an export log, just an error message saying something went wrong ...
If it's taking an hour to export 40 tracks, your export USB device isn't very good -- that's like USB2 speeds. See this video I made about the difference in export speeds and USB devices.
My USB device is a USB3 samsung SSD (1to). It works pretty fine, it's a brand new one but you're right, it run at "usb2 speeds" because of my laptop : it only have usb2 ...
But ... 1 hour for transferring 40 track of 20 mo each (800mo) ... it's still very sloooow ... Finder does it in 1 min, with metadata ... Why is it so long for rekordbox ?
That said, my biggest problem is that I have no answer about why this or this track doesn't export ... Neither for the error when I try to export a playlist ...
Thank for your help.
That's because the export is not just the single large file -- it also has to export numerous small files; the waveform, cue data, album art, etc. All of those files are relatively small, and when you export a bunch of small files, it takes longer than just a couple of large files as the transfer process has to stop and perform the lead in/out section and write to the file table for each and every file.
I'm not sure why it's not reporting an error to the log, but if you're able to narrow it down, that will help us identify the cause.
