Official comment
A track must be played for at least 1 minute for it to switch to green and be logged in the history. Using the preview waveform won't log it to history at all.

Question about History tab and playlist export
Hey there, I'm just wonder how Rekordbox compiles the data for the "History" tab. I want to use this feature to create set lists for upload but am wondering if I just load a track and preview a bit of it in my headphones will it write that song into the history tab? Or do you have to play the song for a certain amount of time before it decides you actually played it in your set? Thank you!
