Crackling suddenly

I’m pulling my hair out here guys, been a VDJ user for years and years and thought I would give Rekordbox a go with my new DDJ RZ 

first few weeks have been ok, collection and library are a nightmare compared to VDJ but that could be me. The main issue is that I now have constant crackling while recording my sets and it gets worse the further I get into my set. Each time I load up a track it’s buffering and if I try to connect to the internet or run another programme on the laptop it stutters and splutters terribly. I’ve cleared the laptop of background programmes running to no avail can anyon help.

incidently I ran the DDJ RZ controller via My VDJ software and it works fine, no crackling and I can even surf the net while running all 4 decks at once without issue. if I can’t get this sorted the controller is going up for sale I’m going back to VDJ 

Sorry to hear that -- can you tell me what your computer specs are, including the OS version?

Hi thanks for coming back to me. I have an HP laptop with 4GB ram and 1TB hard drive. It’s only 1 year old and has very very little software on it because I use it exclusively for my DJing. It’s been fine until I updated rekordbox and this issue started
