Xdj rx2 wont remember settings

My rx2 wont remember settings such as quantize value, double/half bpm sync. Also, updated some artist tags to cut down on the clutter in the menus but its still showing all the old artist names.. help, quick, please. I spent tons of money on this thing and its kind of disappointing me

Can you tell me where you updated the artist tags? And what process you did to update whichever source you use with the RX2?

As for the settings being retained, are you referring to within the unit itself or rekordbox?

I updated the artist tags in my file explorer (win). I dont really know what u mean by the second bit.
The unit wont retain the settings. Rekordbox keeps my quantize at 1/16 and the double/half sync enabled but when i restart the unit it goes back to 1/2 beat quantize and no double/half sync. It really sucks because i ultimately bought this to use as a standalone, which its not if i need my laptop to constantly change settings. I know i can change quantize on the unit but proper sync functionality is what im really aiming for

Ran into another problem. Loaded a track, noticed the beat grid was off (ive heard of swing but jeez lol) so i fix it on my pc, reload the track onto the controller and what do you know, beat grid still off. WHY!?!?

Okay, so you edited the file's ID3 tags within Windows -- after you did that, did you update the tags within rekordbox? If not, that's why they're still showing the old data - it's what's logged in the library.

You're still not being clear on the quantize settings. You say "rekordbox keeps my quantize at 1/16" but then say "when I restart the unit" - are you referring to the XDJ-RX2? Because that's not rekordbox retaining those settings...

As for the beat grid, if you have analysed normal tracks in dynamic mode, the beat grids may APPEAR to be correct, but playback will prove otherwise. Please ensure the tracks are properly analysed in the appropriate mode - dynamic for songs with a varying tempo from live drummer (eg. rock / disco), normal for electronic-percussion songs with a consistent tempo (eg. dance).

@ David Brown

You know that you can adjust the beatgrid on the machine on the fly?
Just push the encoder for two seconds, adjust and press the encoder again. DONE!
