RMX 500 issue with DJM900NXS2. (Mono Audio)

I'm trying to connect the RMX500 to the DJM900XS2 (both with latest firmware) via send return.

1. Perfectly working cables taking the SEND from mixer going to INPUT on the RMX and the OUTPUT from the RMX to the RETURN of the mixer.

2. The Top right SEND/RETURN section on the MIXER is set to AUX.

3. The moment I select a channel for the FX to happen via the channel selector on the DJM900NXS2, the audio on the master is switching to MONO with only the RIGHT channel playing

4. However, when I check the output of the RMX via the headphone, I'm getting a clear STEREO output

5. Also, If the channel selected for FX on the DJM900NXS2 is not the same as the channel playing the audio, the OUTPUT is coming in STEREO.

Please advice.

Let's say your source audio is playing on CH1, and the AUX RETURN is selected for CH4, does the audio returning from the RMX on CH4 play in mono? Or just the master output?

If you swap the L/R cables on ONE END the return, does the audio change from the right channel to the left channel?

If I swap the cables, the audio does not change, but stops completely instead, however I also noticed, if both SEND & RETURN ports on the mixer are connected using a single MONO cable each, then it outputs stereo.

The moment I insert the jack into the other SEND or RETURN port in STEREO, the master becomes MONO.

I'm having the same issue when I tried it with a XONE 96 as well. This is really strange cuz when I use the unit in direct mode without SEND, it perfectly outputs STEREO, even when I connect the OUTPUT of RMX into a LINE input of a channel on the mixer and use the DRUM samples, it plays in STEREO perfectly.

When a single (mono) cable is used for S/R, that signal is doubled to each channel; it's not stereo, just dual-mono.

You have the same issue with a different mixer, ruling out the mixer(s) as the problem, yet you say that it works when used without S/R looping.

Here's what I want you to try... take the RMX and connect it in-line with a CDJ or other line source. See if the signal coming from the RMX to the mixer is in stereo as you would expect. Then troubleshoot by connecting both L and R in to the mixer, but only the L out. Then alternate to only the R out. Do they both work independently?
