Problem with Rekordbox dj

Rekordbox dj is not analyzing me music folder and giving me the following message.

Rekordbox can not create the analysis file in the folder you specified in the preferences

How do I fix this?

I did not move to a new computer nor did I update the OS, I simply upgraded from Rekordbox to Rekordbox DJ 5. The previous version was working fine before the upgrade

I was using Rekordbox 5.4.3 and after updating it to Rekordbox DJ with license key, I created a new folder and loaded songs to it but none of the new songs analyzed.

It won't write the analysis files because the directory where the waveform data files are store is not available or you don't have permission.

Do you possibly have your database on an external hard drive?

Can you open this file:

Win 7/8/10: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\rekordbox3.settings
mac OS: /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Pioneer/rekordbox/rekordbox3.settings

...and look for the line containing:

VALUE name="pioneerDirectory"

If you can post that directory path here, and then try and go to that directory to see if it exists / if you have permission to read/write to it (right-click on it and check the info / permissions, depending on the operating system).

You're not typing it in... you're looking for the rekordbox3.settings file, located in one of the paths noted above:

Win 7/8/10: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\

mac OS: /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Pioneer/rekordbox/

I deleted Rekordbox and reinstalled it but now when I enter my license key for Rekordbox DJ I get a message saying the license is used a different account. I used the same account as before

I'm not sure why you would have done that... but okay.

If you're trying to activate the license, you would possibly need to first login to your Pioneer DJ account by using the email address / password you used previously. Are you sure you're using the correct account? You can visit rekordbox.com and try to login (or recover your password if you forgot), and from there you can see which rekordbox keys are activated on which machines.
