File version control

I'm wondering if there's a shortcut in rekordbox to "replace" a file entirely so that it stays in all the same playlists but the file itself gets updated. I've got some low quality files for songs that I need to replace with higher quality versions and I'd like to speed up the manual process if possible.

Unfortunately not, as the audio data on the new file will most certainly not match that of the old file, so the beatgrid and any hotcues may be off. You're welcome to try replacing them manually (delete the old and relocate to the new), and at least that would provide a starting ground, but you may find it's more work than it's worth.

Yes, this is what I've already been doing and I assumed there'd be no way to completely replace the beat grids and such but hoping there'd be some type of playlist substitution work-around.

Thanks!

Like I said, you could do it one-by-one by deleting the old file, relocating it to the new, but if the audio is off you'll have to shift the grid... and then the hot cues... etc.
