I haven't compared them side-by-side for audio quality, but the DDJ-800 sure is a great controller for the cost and size.
Hello. I am looking to switch from Serato to RB and I am torn between these 2 controllers because even though the DDJ-1000 has more features, I am not really sure I need them all.
Now I need one more info in order to decide: how is the sound quality.

I know it’s great, that is why is hard to choose. Question is which sounds better and how much better?
It wouldn't be discernible by all but the most trained ears.
Any DJ with a good ear can hear the slightest difference in sound. If there is a slight difference I would always go with the better sound even if it's a slight difference.
So again the question is, and I'd also be curious to know, is the sound card in the DDJ 1000 better than the DDJ 800? Anyone? Or are they the same?
Sorry, I don't have information available on the technical level, but given the listed specs...
DDJ-1000:
Soundcard - 24 bit/44.1 kHz
Frequency Range - 20 - 20000 Hz
Signal-to-Noise Ratio - 112 dB
Distortion - < 0.002 % (USB)
DDJ-800:
Soundcard - 24 bit/44.1 kHz
Frequency Range - 20 - 20000 Hz
Signal-to-Noise Ratio - 111 dB
Distortion - < 0.003 % (USB)
They probably use different components and are insignificantly different to hear any improvement in one over the other.
Thank you. That answered my question. I'll pass it along. Bottom line no difference in sound.
