I've lost my Link player icons after updating Windows 10 to 1903, haven't used the players in a while (XDJ-1000mk2 connected via Ethernet LAN, no change in hardware) and initially thought the issue was due to Rekordbox 5.6.0 update but my previous 5.3.0 install has the same behaviour. When rekordbox updates, it will require new permissions through the firewall as each version of the application is listed separately. Either disable the firewall or allow the connections through for the 4 apps listed in the guide you linked.

Yep, I disabled firewall completely for all network types, even added the 4 paths as per the guide, no difference. Are there any logs or anything that might provide clues?
I also turned the wifi off. I still have 5.3.0 installed, that doesn't show the link section either now, so seems more likely to be related to the Windows update than the Rekordbox update perhaps.
New discovery: connecting a LAN cable directly from PC to one of the XDJs results in the Link button appearing but it won't accept a track via drag-n-drop and the player shows "Library not responding" on the display in Browse mode. Still dead in the water otherwise, hoping for some help soon on this Pioneer people please...
That typically indicates a firewall issue -- are you sure you allowed the permissions for the correct network type? If the network is listed as PRIVATE and you allowed the PUBLIC portion for the firewall, it won't work. Likewise, if your ethernet is listed as PUBLIC then it's not going to have the proper permissions to send the traffic.
Yep, definitely off for all three available network types, Public, Private and Domain.
I even checked the settings for Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security and found a few Inbound Rules for the Pioneer binaries that weren't enabled, so I enabled them. No improvement, but that's not a surprise given I'd disabled the firewall entirely anyway. Nothing in Outbound Rules that I could see.
I note that connecting the PC direct to XDJ it shows the network type as Public, while connecting via the router it's Private, for what that's worth. How does the software detect the player, is it looking for them via DHCP? Are there any logs to look for?
Have you tried using the USB-Ethernet bridge (aka the Link Export driver)? Install this driver and it should avoid the networking hassles, let's see if that's the solution or if there's something else we need to dig into.
(You would connect via USB, not ethernet, for that to work.)
I want this to work via LAN really, as it did previously. Is there nothing else you can suggest for diagnosis please?

@Pulse ok done that, result somewhat interesting - Link mode behaving same as before with LAN, including the "Library not responding" part, but the XDJ is seen by the PC as an audio device in the Win10 Bluetooth settings and I can use it as a controller in Performance mode in rb. So the comms is working over the USB but still won't send audio from my library on the PC. (Edited to add: in Perf mode the audio is coming out of the PC's built-in speakers, not the deck)
I've just had the same issue with losing Pro Link (MIDI still worked as a substitute BTW) after Windows 10 1903 update with my XDJ1000mk2 and XDJ-RX2.
I tried installing more updates from windows, removing and re-installing hardware drivers, resetting windows firewall defaults, allowing program through firewall, turning off windows firewall, updating firmware on player, removing and re-installing rekordbox, trying rekordbox beta, none of this worked.
MY SOLUTION: I remember that rekordbox doesn't play nice with Virtual Network Cards. Sure enough, Windows has re-enabled my Virtual Box Network Card during the update. I disabled the Virtual adapter and rekordbox straight away recognized Pro Link again.
Check your network adapters, try disabling adapters that you are not using to connect to your hardware and see if that works for you.
