Yep, it's likely the audio buffer size; the SX3 requires more resources than the SB3 does due to the functions of the hardware, so as a result, you may need to adjust the latency.
Hello, I purchased the 1000SRT about 2 weeks ago. I love the unit, but I cannot enjoy it totally because of how distorted the sound is. I am running serato 2.2.2. and have a Macbook Pro 15 inch (Specs below)
When I plug in my SB3 the sound through my studio monitors is crystal clear. I played with the latency settings, shutt off wifi and bluetooth, tried a different outlet, reinstalled serato and the 1000SRT drivers. The sound is still distorted and also is through my headphones. Are there any other things to try out to remedy this problem?

check the latency in Serato settings , I has then same problem, I always used in 1 ms or 2 but the audio distortion, I'm using 5 ms now is working good.
hello, i have the same specs as the guy above and i am still having distorted sound. i have done everything above also. I have adjusted the latency and i still have too much base. I plug up my ddj sx and the sound is perfect. Anything else i can do?
@clifton > The various Pioneer DJ controllers have different requirements, so you can't connect a DDJ-SX and compare it to a DDJ-1000.
Try changing up the connection - if it's through a USB hub, try without. Try a different USB cable or even a different computer to try and narrow down the source of the issue.
What requirements are you talking about? I want to be versed in the differences like you.
Both machines plug up by a USB. That's the common denominator. So anything besides that is above my scope. Your explanation didn't help. USB cords didn't help. I needed YOU to narrow down the source of the issue by giving me more technical analysis. Maybe I didn't give you enough information?
But my troubleshooting showed that the master volume can't be controlled by using Line In cords(quarter inch cords. whatever you call them). The master volume can only be controlled by using XLR cables. That was the problem. The master volume was turned up too loud as soon as I load a song. I had no control over the master volume. The master volume can only be turned down by the mouse on the Serato Screen. I made adjustments on the screen and the sound worked better. I also updated the driver again. Thank's for your subpar troubleshooting.

any answers on this guys? crackling and poppig sound on my ddj 1000srt???
@Carl > This also applies to the DDJ-1000SRT.
Hi,
i have logged a ticket, tried all of the above and spent £30 on a neo data cable to see if that solved the problem, which it didn't. Playing audio via windows media player without controller is perfect, but plugged into controller cracks and pops as if its like i;m playing vinyl.
please help!
Does it happen when you unplug the laptop power supply?
Unfortunately, these "Turbo Boost" setting options are not available in my Acer Swift laptop. (Win 10, DDJ SRT 1.02 Firmware, Seratos newest Version)
I have indeed found that crackling Sound only occurs with the power supply plugged in. Everything is perfect in battery mode...
What should I do?
I have the same problem on Windows and I'm trying EVERYTHING without results.
The strange thing is that connecting on an older laptop with less core power, ram etc. works perfectly with minimum latency!! So strange. Pleas help!
@reale fabio > That could be the Intel Turbo Boost (as noted above), or other background tasks. Even some "performance" software (like MSI Afterburner) can cause this to occur.
@Stefan > Then your Acer doesn't have decent isolation between the charging and USB circuits. Consider getting a USB isolation device.
I have a rog gaming laptop Intel core i7-8750h CPU @2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Ram 16.0 gb.
I'm having a similar problem where I hear a light cracking in the background when I touch the device. I narrowed it down to when I unplug the laptop or completely goes away. Is the computer running too much power? I'm struggling to figure out what I need to do, please help.....
I'm going to resurrect this because I am having the same issue, and I've done alot of troubleshooting and haven't been able to solve the issue.
As a note, I recently purchased a beefy desktop so I could run some live streams w/ Serato video in the BG, so I moved from a 2016ish Macbook Pro where I had no issues whatsoever. I transferred my library and Serato folder to the new desktop as well.
I also have the ddj1000-srt. and I'm noticing clicking/popping almost like a sample rate issue, and I've actually narrowed it down to the controller itself.
When I playback in Serato to my system speakers without the controller plugged in, the issue is non-existent. When I playback audio from any other source (Spotify app or web player, vlc, etc.) the issue isn't there.
When I playback in Serato using the controller (master XLR out to 2x krks, no interface being used), the issue occurs ever so slightly BUT gets worse when ANY new CPU load is introduced (opening programs, recording with OBS, even scrolling through a webpage etc).
***When I playback audio from another source like Spotify, but using the controller as the line out from windows, the issue still persists.
I have tried adjusting latency to min and max with no change. I also adjusted the min and max processor power states, no change.
I have also tested every USB port on my mobo (1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.0 USB-C) with the appropriate cables, no change.
Two things I've just noticed, upon turning on my controller, I see the USB dropout warning light come on red, the orange, then disappear. I didn't notice this happening before with the setup on my Mac. The second thing I've noticed is playing back a song with a bitrate of 1411 (aiff) vs an mp3 at 320 HELPS, but the issue is still there.
This is very clearly some sort of samplerate or audio processing issue with the sound card on the controller... Any ideas??
One last thing I'm going to try before I light my hair on fire. I updated the firmware on the controller on my Mac, so the firmware version is up to date BUT I'm going to try re-loading the firmware update from windows. Shot in the dark, but it's worth a try.
Firmware update didn't do the trick. I also tried listening back to recordings made with OBS (using virtual audio cable) as well as Serato and the issue is present.
