DDJ-1000 Crossfader position after Autoplay

Hello,

Last week-end I was using my DDJ-1000 and it was on Autoplay.
After a few songs, I clicked on the Rekordbox button to disable autoplay. It went from green to gray.
At that time, the song that was playing on the left deck continued playing until the end.
The crossfader on the DDJ was physically in the middle position and has remained untouched since the beginning.
After song on the left deck stopped playing, I loaded a track on the right deck and hit play. The music didn't play though. After a few seconds, I moved the crossfader on the DDJ from the center position to the left, then back to the middle and then the music played as expected.

My question is : Is it a normal behaviour of the autoplay function? It seems that the crossfader was in the left position in the software but physically in the center position on the DDJ.

I would have expected the software to set the position of the crossfader according to the physical cursor after I stopped the autoplay.

Thanks,
Pierre

Yes, the same as your physical pitch fader needing to move to "pick up" the software pitch fader position if you had previously had sync enabled and then disabled it.

After using automix, you should move the crossfader (or re-enable the channel assignments).

OK thanks for the confirmation.

Is it a reason why it's not possible to reset the crossfader software position when you deselect automix?

I guess that would be safer.

Thanks,

Pierre

The hardware doesn't transmit the position of any control unless it's moved.
