Is exFAT compatible yet?

Was just wondering if exFAT is compatible yet or not, found posts from a few years ago saying its not but thought there may have been an update on this by now. Or, is it still preferable to use FAT32 format?

Sorry, no exFAT support at this time but I hope that it's considered for future devices.

It would really be about time this would come in as an update to the 2000 family, at least for NXS2. It's getting more and more annoying that theres a big issue with RekordBox, where plugging usb drive in the PC renders message stating that device database is corrupted, although it's not {{{ the CDJs see and work just fine, and this happens on the same PC, plugging the drive in to the same RekordBox instance with same Master databse after about a month, so unless the CJDs broke it in some way, theres really no other explanation than RekordBox having an issue...}}} and Windows does not offer/support FAT32 as an option if we want to format new drives that are of a higher storage capacity.
I mean, the RekordBox issue that many are reporting is just bad, given that its the only way I can normally use and utilize 7000$ CDJ/DJM kit, so rewriting the whole drive 80% of the times I want to update my library is just... well, I'd rather not say it.

Also, exFAT has been opened to public back in 2019, so right now I can't really see obstacles it wouldn't be put in.

Long story short, I gotta say we feel that with the DDJ and stuff alike you're targeting lower end users more and more, which is fine, but not at the cost of the high end flagship industry standard products...

Any updates on this side would be really appreciated and fair tbh...

Virtually all of our products currently sold were designed prior to the release of the exFAT patents to the OIN, meaning they were developed at a time when a $300,000 license was required. While exFAT may now be open to all, it's unlikely that existing hardware will be updated to support it even if new devices released later will.

I completely get and embrace that fact. Thats why Im asking for an update on that end, not going crazy on "why its not done yet?" attitude...
But...  when talking about industry standard players, and fact that branded good usb drives that are of a 32GB or less capacity, are actually harder and harder to get, while PC without additional software does not allow us to format in FAT32 anything larger than 32GB.... I think that updates for these high-end players should not be ignored so easily.

If nothing else, could you at least add an option to format the drive as FAT32 in the RekordBox itself?  From software side, this should be even easier to do than firmware for exFAT, and while not solving the root of the issue, it at least lets us do what you suggest in the first place as an alternative, but without any of us searching for tools...

Sounds like a good alternative?

I use 128GB drives formatted to FAT32 without issue, so that's not a limitation. You can do this from the command line or 3rd party tools in Windows, or natively within Mac.

So do I. But everytime RekordBox decides the database is corrupted, I need to reformat it and search for the 3rd party tool to do so.
There's no built-in tool in Windows that allows to do so, so having a 3rd party software is necessary... The DiskPart reports an error and does not allow to format even from command line...

Would it be really too much to ask the developers to think about adding an option to format from within RekordBox, at least if they detect corrupted database?
