Official comment
I'd recommend using a 3rd party tag editor for that, then simply have rekordbox re-load the metadata after you've completed your changes.

Automatically copy genre to comments
Hello everyone,
I have a little question for the community.
Is there a way, a script or something that I could past in the "comment" space of the the info section so that it would mirror the "genre" when I export it.
Like if I have a track genre defined as "Bass" and I change it to "Bass Jam" I would want to not have to manually enter that in the comment section.
Maybe there just isn't a way though ...

Ok I see.
So, as I'm already quite far into my labeling/sorting process. Is there a way to export existing Rekordbox tags into the actual tags of the audio files ? So that I do't have to start over ?

Unfortunately not - see our metadata matrix here for more info on what's read/written. The only other thing I can think of would be to custom write a script to take the data stored in an XML output to then parse it into the file's metadata.
