transfer specific music and selected playlist from one computer to another

I have all my music and RKB collection on one desktop computer (mac). I want to transfer some of the music (specific and selected playlists) to another computer (mac). On my USB I have all the music and playlists I want to transfer. What is the best, safest way to do do? Take into account the following:
1. The second computer will be the one I´ll be using now on for RKB usage.

2. If I import from USB device to computer, the music files will go straight to the pioneer folder "imported from device" but since I use itunes to store my files, new music will be stored in "itunes music" folder. I want all music to be unified on the same folder, in this case the "itunes music folder".

3. Of course I require to have on the second computer all my folders, playlists and cue points saved on RKB.

* My option by now is to drag all music from the "contents" folder on the USB onto the "itunes music folder" that I believe is the same as copying it to itunes. Then export playlists for folders from the USB and import them to rekordbox. I asume using "itunes" at the tree of rekordbox I can select all tracks and import to collection. But how do I get back my playlists, cue points, etc

Thanks in advance

For starters, I wouldn't recommend using two different computers unless you're doing a full backup from the "master" and then restore to the other as the "slave" with no intention of taking the changes made on the slave back to the master. It just gets sloppy.

What you can do is export music to the USB drive from the master, then take the USB to the slave computer, right click on the playlist from the export USB device and then "import" that playlist and all the music. Then you at least have a copy. You can repeat that as often as you need, but again - not ideal.

Thank you, I dont plan to use two computer because I already did that mistake. What I plan is to transfer only some music (specific playlists and folders) to the second computer that will be the only one I will be using for rekordbox. Buyi dont to transfer the whole database and also don't the files to be under the pioneer "imported from device" folder, but in the itunes music folder, so when I copy and import new music I download, they all will be under the same "master" folder on the computer = the itunes music folder.

What shall be the simplest but safest way to do so? Thanks for the answer

You could move them to the iTunes folder and then relocate them, but to be perfectly honest, you're making more work for yourself than you really need to.

Can I ask what the goal of this is?

Would it possibly be easier to simply maintain your database on an external drive and move it from computer to computer?

Thanks, I dont have an external drive. The second computer from now on will be the master computer and all future downloads, as well rekordbox usage, syncing USBs, etc will be done on the second computer and the first one will be only a back up computer.

Whats the difference between relocating the files than opening itunes from the tree in rkb, import to collection and then add the playlists through m3u file?

Even a USB drive is large enough for the database itself, and as long as the paths on both machines are the same, rekordbox wouldn't know the difference.

If the second computer is just a backup, then I'd recommend using the backup/restore method, or just use an external database.

Don't make a mess by importing the songs to the collection after you've moved them - you're only going to make things worse and end up spending more time trying to relocate or manage duplicates.

or plan b) import folders/playlists from USB to computer to itunes music folder and thats it? They just wont appear on itunes but yes on rkb, right?

Legit, you're hurting my brain trying to figure out why you want to use not only two computers, but iTunes and rekordbox on two computers.

Here's my recommendation:

- Anything you don't want on the second computer, delete from the first one.

- Move the entire database and music to the second (new) computer via backup/restore.

- Leave the first computer as-is, maintain your collection on the second computer, whether it's in iTunes or rekordbox.

- Any time you want to update something on the first computer, export it from the second computer to USB, then import the playlist on the first computer and ignore the fact it's not in iTunes. This is just your backup - you're not managing things here.

You may utilize https://musconv.com/ to move playlists from Spotify to another player. Ask musconv to move any songs, playlists, or albums from one service to the other after logging into the relevant services.
